Laptop works, but asks me to update every chance it gets.......... then tells me it can't update.
....asks me again to update .......... then tells me it can't update ....asks me again to update .......... then tells me it can't update ....asks me again to update .......... then tells me it can't update ....asks me again to update .......... then tells me it can't update ....asks me again to update .......... then tells me it can't update.
So nice that it cares so much about me.
The browser sucks. Not sure what happens if I switch to another. I downloaded chrome but haven't set it up. I suppose if I open the chrome folder, I need to be connected to a high speed connection? (and not my dialup)
I'm also not sure if Firefox would be a better choice. I like it and it's pretty much all Ive ever used.

I opened "all apps" scrolled down to Windows 10 update assistant.
Inside was Windows 10 upgrader. It asked Do you want this app to make changes to your PC.. I set it from yes to no............ we'll see what happens.

Thought it was XP..

Via Control Panel > Administrative Tools, you can access Windows Services Manager. In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the Service. To turn it off, right-click on the process, click on Properties and select Disabled

I have it disabled now. Thanks.

My bad for confuzing you. I was thinking the newer HP notebook pain in the ass. You were thinking the older XP laptop pain in the ass that my friend gave me.
Been using the newer 14" 2015 HP notebook off and on recently so that was on my mind when you asked. The upgrade assistant can't remember I don't have space to update/upgrade, so it keeps asking. I'll have to wait to see if the fix shuts this sucker up. I won't know until I take it to town to get a good WIFI signal.

I hate laptops, ...their screens, ...the fact that the screen is connected to the laptop ....and W10.
I'd like a new HD for the PC and install 7 or XP on it so I can use it with Photoshop. I have a cordless keyboard that resides on my lap and the screen stays where I like it........ on the desks top ....where it should be
