Oh wow! That is fantastic, Rusty! Does she intend to do gymnastics professionally or do you think she will try to go for the Olympics when she is old enough?

Whatever she chooses to do, I hope she has success and good health throughout it. I know gymnasts can really wreck their bodies.

On the registration/license stuff. Here we have to get an inspection sticker on the windshield. $10 for 1 year and $20 for 2 year. If the windshield gets broken or the sticker peels off (which it sometimes does in the heat here) it has to be replaced at full cost. Driver's license has to be renewed every 5 years and the fee for that keeps going up. If you are late renewing it they charge an additional fee. My brother forgot his needed to be renewed until over a month later & had to pay the fee. I was 1 day late on renewing mine because my birthday fell on a weekend & they said it was close enough that I wouldn't have to pay a late fee-- they have about a 10 day grace period.

Then there is the registration / sticker for the license plate. That has gone up as well. I can't remember the frequency but I think it's annual or possibly 2 years. I need to check my sticker to see when it expires. They usually send notice in the mail.

Our insurance is every 6 months and they just jacked the prices way up because of flooding in other parts of the state. They claim that because they have to pay out more to other people who had flood damage that it justifies raising the rates of people who don't live in flood areas. I think it's a scam, but then, I'm in the state that already has some of the highest insurance rates in the country. A friend of mine who was paying extremely high prices for his insurance managed to switch to something where he had a monitor in his vehicle for about a week that checked his driving habits & determined he was a "safe" driver so he got a drastically reduced rate. I thought about suggesting it to my brother, but then I remembered that he drives like a jackass so his rates would probably go up.

Meanwhile, I'm worried about my oldest cat. He's 16 and is having difficulty walking. The other night he was sleeping on me, stood up, took a few steps, and lost control of his bladder, then flopped on his side. He walks a few feet, gets tired, and lies down. He sometimes yowls for attention and then almost passes out from exhaustion. He's not really eating-- he licked at his food a little and then decided to nap. He's sleeping next to his wateter but not really drinking much. He sometimes falls asleep with his face on the edge of the bowl. He's having a harder time standing and I think it's only a matter of time now. We'd take him to the vet, but he's terrified of riding in the car and of going to the vet-- last time he had a seizure. So, we are just going to try to keep him as comfortable as possible. Since he likes sleeping on the area rug and likes being near his waterer, I put a small area rug on top of the cushy mat next to his waterer so he has a comfortable place to rest.
