........I recently told you I did a repair in a looped pile carpet for $25 per inch. Does that make me expensive? :D
I just installed 7 trim pieces in a new Coretek installation. I charged $350 and was being way to nice with my prices. The original installer didn't finish the job.

The trick is finding the good ones. Get references by asking a lot of shops for names. Tell them the job is difficult and you want someone good. (even if the job isn't unreasonably difficult)
If a recommended installer does a good job, call back the flooring store you got the name from and thank them. That's how reputations get made.

I just did a 8' x 16' Porch with a cheap Berber .. Cloudy day , No light on the porch.. Lady called the next day stating there were lines in the cpt..
Went back and inspected it .. Sure enough it has 8" Stop Marks in it .. Guess who is going to take the beating on this one ..

Had a complaint of a seam coming apart. Split was 3' from a seam. They had a rolling office chair with steel casters. Casters cut the carpet. I personally had warned them about the chair when I was there. People screwed up and wanted someone else to pay for it. Store backed me.

I thought stop marks weren't always visible at installation.

It wasn't E , Plus it was cloudy with no light .. Went there this Morning and explained it to her and she paid me ..
Raining here today , and cloudy.. They were not Visible ..

New term to me. Stop marks?

Installing on own is not that easy, its an art. its better to hire someone experienced who are doing this from years he knows the small things which you might not know.

The regulars on here have all installed for 30 years or more. Some of us for more than 40.
Here's what 30 gets ya. One bedroom rental complex. Guessing 2 to 4 years old?
Tell me what happened here.
Hint. It is stapled to the tackstrip. That makes fixing this one all that more fun ;) ...but so does Neosporin ointment. :D
The installer isn't allowed to work for this large property management place anymore.

Looks like a loose lay cut and Tuck E..
I haven't pulled it all back yet, just enough to pull the metals. Carpet need to finish drying. It was cleaned the day before.
I haven't seen any kicker marks yet, so I think you win. Unroll, seam, tuck and staple to the tackstrip. Staples stop wrinkles from forming. ...right?
