I think the paint on walls and ceiling is oil based. It’s rock hard. 120 is hardly scratching it. Just going to go over the whole thing to get the dirt off and key it a little

Stay safe, Rusty! Hopefully the tornadoes won't do any damage.

Tom, glad to hear you're making progress. I need to get off my a$$ and do something. Just been so exhausted & now the AC isn't working so it's hot as hell in here. Only room that isn't too hot is my mother's room. It has the best air circulation in the house & is cool even though it only has 1 fan. My room has 3 fans but doesn't get air from the duct (I think the duct is broken somewhere in the attic).

Good call on the mold Daris. Fix the leak. Don't call waster restoration company or insurance unless the whole side of your house is infected.
If the wiod is really weak, gotta replace subfloor, maybe joists. $$$$
If not I'd bleach it, dry it and bury it with Ardex

Rusty, that looks bad. Floods really suck. Helps keep me in perspective though. My monitor just died this morning-- bc of my brother's un-neutered cats peeing on it. I've locked them all out of my room now.
I'm using a temporary monitor that doesn't use the regular power supply-- it has it's own special one & it's persnickety. I had to rig it to stay in & it's very sensitive. I can't tip or move the monitor without making it lose power.

Time to shop for a new monitor. And also need to figure out what's wrong with Mom's computer. I hope its an easy fix on hers and that her SSD didn't die/get damaged.

My friend who works on the stuff sent me a message last night that his truck's battery boiled over- acid spilled out & it broke the "driver side post".

I'd be careful around that battery. The correct order of things is ........the battery post was broken somehow, which then caused the battery to boil over. Batteries can literally explode when they short out.

Do you have another [power cord for the monitor? If the cord is broken internally, it's a fire hazard.

Primer is your friend

Acrylic paint from Benjamin Moore is paint and primer in one.

I wiped down the walls and ceiling today. Put an ‘awning ‘ of paper over every door. The window sill too. Got the hand masker. Great product. A little pricey for how much I’m going to use it.

Using Benjamin Moore ultra spec 500 flat for ceiling. OC-110 Milkyway. I got 3 gallons. 500 sq ft. I heard it’s a great ceiling paint because it has minimal splatter.

My Ace Hardware here sells that paint. Good stuff. Still needs two coats, everything needs two coats. Never used a paint that can do a proper job with one coat.

I always use 2 coats. It’s almost white on a white ceiling.

Also, didn’t realize I didn’t get a cutting brush. Off to Lowe’s tomorrow. And since it’s going to rain the next 4 days. Painting probably will wait till Sunday.

Just got a 3 inch angled Purdy brush for cutting in. I'm going to use a square one for the ceiling because I don't need to worry about it getting on walls. Humidity in house is 50% even though thunderstorms are predicted. I'm going to paint anyway. Shouldn't be a problem. I also bought a snap on gallon cover/funnel. I'm totally sold on them. No cleanup needed around rim of can.

Ah, didn't know that about the batteries. My friend's paycheck just landed so hopefully he'll be able to get a new one. I just hope they have the one he wants in stock.
The cord itself wasn't broken, but there was something wrong with the port where it fit in on the computer. Had to hang the cord over the back of the VESA mount & pin it to the desk w/ one of the feet to make it pull up enough to stay in the port tightly. However, I didn't like the picture on it & I couldn't tilt or move it w/o it cutting off so I ended up getting a new monitor (which was on sale). https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-29WK50S-P-ultrawide-led-monitor
I'm loving it so far. It has a split-screen feature so I can view notes on one side while playing games or messing with graphics on another. Even w/o the software I can resize windows bc it's so wide. I'm happy w/ it thus far. Whenever I'm not using the PC I shut the monitor off & cover it just in case the cats get in.

LOL! The photoshopped Nessie is a nice touch.

I got one coat on ceiling today. Will get a second done tomorrow. Paint is fine in the flat version.

Will grab wall paint Saturday. My $1800 rebate came in the mail today.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to need 1/4 inch plywood on floor. That will make the new baseboard line up with the stuff coming out of the stairwell.
