Talked to the 80 year old carpet installer here today. He had colon cancer surgery and is ready to go back to work. He looks healthy. He has been installing for 61 years.

My relax day...Went to DMV, to lumberyard and bought some gravel, spread it on the driveway, bought a barrel for my wife to use to pit fire ceramics. Did dishes cause she had a headache and cooked supper.
Man is all muscle. Tough as nails.

Damn, he needs a hobby........... really. That's way to much unless he's doing repairs. Even then, it seems like too much.
I did tile demo in a bathroom yesterday. It helps when it's carpet adhesive over plywood put down with a 3/8" v notch trowel. The tiles were 16 or 18 inchers and the grout is what held them in place.
There was maybe 5 to 20 percent contact with the tile, and even then, the contact was only onto the textured ribs and occasionally all the way up to the back of the tile. Tile was installed just prior to putting the home for sale.
................OK, then it's not me.
I'll never make it. I have an appointment with an Ortho next week. I think my right shoulder is shot. Don't know why after 53 years. Bad part of it is if I have to have surgery I'm so right handed that all I can do left handed is scratch my right elbow. Who is going to do the early morning paper work?

Today I replaced the plants that didn't make that I planted this spring. The reason some didn't make it was because they were next to plants that like a lot of water and they didn't because of runoff from the ones that did. Don't always listen to a professional because that is what I did when I panted the first time
Probably would have been a job for self leveler.
Actually I used self leveler as a skim coat.
Daris, how did you come out with the weight loss? I dropped from 266 to 233 and could never lose any more. My weight still varies from 233-237.
I lost close to 40 but gained it all back plus a couple of friends came along. I went down to 238, but now back up to 269 a week ago. I have gained it all since the end of Jan. I'm diabetic and the meds I was on helped me to lose weight but ending up with bowel problems and they changed my meds so now here came the weight back. So now you might say I'm full of it and it could be true.
When my wife takes her insulin, she gains weight. When they try another med she loses weight but her sugar goes up.
Rusty, is your wife insulin resistant? Has she tried something like Janumet (or Jenumet-- can't remember which)?
My brother is insulin resistant so he has to take a shot once a week (I think Truvia or something) & doesn't need insulin. But my mother needs to take Novelin 70/30 before meals as well as the Janumet. She also has to take Dilantin for polyneuropathy, atorvastatin for high cholesterol, & synthroid for hypothyroid.
I've been under the weather-- lower abdominal pain, lower back pain, & pelvic pain. TMI but I've had a bit of bladder retention & constipation. Going to eat some prunes to see if it helps. I'm still having the kidney stones as well. My brother has been very sick with his COPD-- he's got a bad respiratory infection right now & missed a few days of work bc of it. He recently got a promotion but things at work got stressful when some new people came in with unreasonable rules (stuff that was counterproductive). He had been working on the back fryer & one of the supervisors complained he was too slow & messy (seemingly forgetting that it's a 2-person station & he was working it by himself). Every time he's not running back fryer, they have two people assigned to it and sometimes other people help. He was miffed enough about the complaints that he was going to transfer to another kitchen but his co-workers had an intervention when he came back the next day & begged him to stay & the supervisor started being extremely nice to him & then chastised people for not helping him when he was working back fryer-- but for now & the next few weeks he's working the grill.
I had to go into town twice today-- once to pick up prescriptions & then to take my brother back in to get some stuff. He's not feeling well enough to drive. The parish workers are about to pave more of our road so it was all messed up on my way in and back the first trip but on the 2nd trip they had it smoothed down. I just hope the road won't be closed tomorrow.
I'm hoping that I won't be having the pain in the morning so I can get stuff done. I need to do some cleaning again.

Janumet makes her ill.
I got switched over to Janumet on my last visit. I was on metformin for umpteen years but about 6 or seven 7years ago I got irratated bowel syndrome and couldn't figure out why. It was the Metformin that was causing it. As soon as I mentioned IBS she jumped on the Metformin and took me off it and no problems since then.
