I have a heat vent that is right to the wall and uses an angled cover. If I leave the required 1/4 space for the vinyl flooring, the vent will not cover the 1/4 space. I looked for a larger vent to cover the gap (particularly the front/ bottom) but I can’t seem to locate one, they all seem to be the same size. Any suggestions or tips?

Thanks I got that. Problem is the metal triangle vent only has a 1/8 “lip” at bes underneath. If it was a floor vent flat on the floor it would be fine those covers seem to have a lip an inch or so but it’s not.
The triangle vent can mount to the wall so no problem there

So it “floats “ over the hole? Cut the hole a bit smaller than the vent opening?
If you can cut the hole the same size as the duct, then set the cover and you can anchor it to the wall if doing a floating floor, if floating don't lock it down to the floor or jus let it rest on a couple of business cards to give freedom of movement.

Thanks! Fold the duct flaps inside the duct? They currently fold out on the ends and stick up in the front.
