Thanks, Havasu. Is it enough to get the DA to at least look at it? I'm trying to get the people to talk to the parish police at least, but I know neither one of them trust the cops much due to bad experiences with the corrupt ones. I've sent a tip to the crimestoppers hotline about it, but I don't think it will get any traction. I'm hoping at the very least it would be passed on to the attorney representing the man who was wrongfully accused. If I knew who his lawyer was (if he even has one), I'd tell him what I know & get him to ask the witnesses about it.

Honestly, I doubt it. Get the person who heard the talk and it would be a game changer.
Ok, so the person who was told by the mother of the alleged victim would be the one to talk to the DA or parish police?
Also trying to convince the witness to the brat falling to go to the DA & tell him what he saw. At the very least we are hoping the cops may return her phone since it might not be needed for evidence (as it didn't cause the injury).

I was just told that the brat's mother found out her daughter lied about how she got the injury (she had truly believed that the phone caused it) & has reached out to my friend & apologized & said she wants to drop the charges. Unfortunately, it's already in the system so I don't know if that will happen. We still don't even know which one of the DAs will have the case. I'm still trying to convince the neighbor to come forward to the DA about the recanting of the alleged rape victim. People around here just don't trust the legal system & it's hard to get people to do the right thing.

Can you blame the legal system, when the fault seems to be on the shoulders of the lying and denying public it serves?
Good point. Unfortunately, (at least where I live) the cops are corrupt as hell. We have cops who sell drugs & frame people, firefighters who set fires so they can get the glory of putting them out (6 of them just got busted for it in my town), and cops who either abuse their authority or don't even try to do their jobs. People don't trust the cops here for good reason. But then, cops also don't trust people in general for good reason.

I know it happens, especially some of the PD's on the east side of the country, but it just seems unimaginable for a cop who was taught under Police Officers Standards and Training. One bad apple will destroy the entire basket, so we will turn in any crooked cops, because this is a despicable action.

Small towns can be bad. I have had two local cops tell me that they were given a list of prominent people that they could not ticket. The supt. of schools was stopped for DUI and they called for a family member to come get him instead of arresting him. The city manager leaves the bars drunk on weekends and they won't arrest him.

You should address this at your next city council meeting. We are going after our city's attorney on Monday night for numerous violations of corruption, lies and overcharging our city. He charged this small city $1.4 million dollars just last year.

We don't even have city council meetings anymore. At least not that are open to the public. There are people on the city council who get all sorts of benefits & get out of trouble for doing illegal stuff though.
