I'm not ready every 19 years when we have a day with it. Never will be.
Love them 68 degree days when the sun is shining.
....overcast and 65 is just as good.

Where’s Sleepy Joe’s Clock ⏰ ? It’s now a ceiling fan 😝….. thanks for sharing that joke Rusty, because it got me thinking 🤔

How can we learn something from that joke ? ….can we spin it 😜 and change the way we look at lying. Let’s try !

The joke shows how creative Jesus is when deciding how to judge and punish his misbehaving flock. The punishment he chose could actually be called a solution. By giving the liars a positive purposeful service to provide in this imaginary after life. “ You spun lyes, now you spin fan blades “ to cool off the heat it has caused me. 😎 ……Maybe 🤔 we could follow that creativity and open a new door. A new way to think, by giving acceptance to the lying people for who they have chosen to be, because ! remember , free will is uncontrollable. However at the same time directing them towards an alternative way to be ! One that demonstrates NONE ACCEPTANCE of lying behavior.

How Do We Do That ? How do we address someone’s behavior without affecting the person’s free will ? …. By seeing Jesus / Kindness in that person, because its in there, somewhere.

Now ! How do we see Kindness , when everything in us tells us not to see it, but to judge them for not being kind.

By Minimizing the inherent and instinctive ‘ Fight or Flight ‘ brain. By minimizing the inherent and instinctive ‘ Lying or Truth ‘ brain . By minimizing the inherent and instinctive ‘ Right or Wrong ‘ brain. AND ! To choose to maximize our none inherent and none instinctive ALTERNATIVE BRAIN…….Be open and choose alternatives , because when it comes to free will, it’s the only tool we can grab for when it comes to molding peace with each other.

If we choose to personalize issues, through the lens of our inherent brains, then we are unknowingly promoting
‘ our will ‘ over the fundamental belief of free will.

See the hidden kindness in everyone and then speak 🗣️

I’m thinkin of trying HPA tanks (paint ball) to run my nail guns. Same principle as a CO2 tank without the CO2.

Main reason for wanting to try this is to try and cut down on the power load being pulled from the limited number of plug sockets that are available on new construction job sites. You know how it is, everything is just fine until the air compressor kicks in and trips the breaker. Or maybe you don’t feel like breaking out the 100’ 10 gauge extension cord which is why the breaker keeps tripping in the first place.

Anybody else ever try this and if you have is it even very practical?

My thought of the day was...

...
Hold my beer, watch this.
After 55 years of playing with drills saws wrenches and everything automotive, I just now learned how a pvc system is supposed to operate.
All I've ever known is "shake the PCV valve" If it rattles it's fine.
Naw, it's more complex than that.
I've been having moisture issues for quite a while now we've been having cold temperatures, 5 to 10 degrees colder than normal since December. On top of that my thermostat hasn't been working correctly, it's been running closer to 180 the 194..
Cold air short trips and coolant temperature that is too low can cause condensation inside the engine. I've been trying to come to grips I said how all this is playing together.
Anyway after installing a new thermostat, a new PCV valve and after totally remanufacturing my oil catch can, I've driven my truck 200 mi and the catch can any it's stayed absolutely spotless inside. No moisture, not a drip of oil, it doesn't even smell bad inside.
My old catch can would fill up every couple of months with some oil and water residue. The stainless steel mesh I put inside the catch can I would get covered in a gooey yellow snot. Most of that was moisture.
Anyway with addition of the new PCV valve and the new thermostat which now keeps the coolant temperature much hotter, I decided to remove my oil catch can hoses from the rocker cover on the driver side to The rocker cover on the passenger side which is for the PCV valve is.
It became apparent that the other side is supposed to be more of a vent for air entering the crankcase.
Previously it wasn't operating as a vent. Gases were going up through it inside the air cleaner..
I had some issues going on.
Anyway, I reattached the two catch can hoses, one to the PCV valve and the other goes into the base of the throttle body.
Oil vapors and moisture are now pulled directly out of the PCV valve and into the catch can. There, as these fumes and gasses enter the catch can, the velocity of the fuel, water, and oil vapors slow down, cool off, form droplets, fall out of suspension and stay in the catch can. This is what catch cans do.
Also helping in the process, as the fumes slow down inside the can, and they get filtered through some heavy stainless steel wool.
Well...... something has drastically changed. The old catch can no longer collected ickiness /snot,
After connecting the catch can to the PCV side of the engine, I've only driven it 20 miles and there's already a tiny puddle of oil in it.
Anyway it's a bit confusing so forget about hold my beer.
I'm going to drink this one whilst i figure out what's going on. 🤔
I think for the first time since I've owned the truck, the PCV system is working and I think I finally understand how these work.
It's so strange that it's taken me decades to think about or understand the operation of the PCV system. I figure it's just a hose and a valve and you replace it once in awhile and call it good.
Nope there's more to it.

It does get deeper..... more theories running rampant in my noggin. I replaced the spark plugs, but before doing so, I ran a spark plug thread chaser to clean out the spark plug threads.
I also took pictures with my boroscope. depstech borescope - Google Search
Tried to get pictures downward at the pistons, then up at the head and valves. Somewhat successfull.
All three cylinders on the PCV side have more build up on top of the pistons and head, than the driver side, the vent aside.
Now that the PCV system is functioning and there's actually vacuum inside the engine it will be interesting to see if this residue cleans itself up since everything will be flowing correctly.
Here's a piston and valve image from the driver's side and the passenger side. Can you tell the clean from the oily ones?
I also did a compression test.
The three cylinders on the driver side, the side that was burning more clean when 148, 155 and159 lb of compression.
The passenger side with more build up ran 154, 171 and 179 lbs.
I misted in some Seafoam last night with a spray bottle, then shut the engine off to let it soak overnight. I might do it the recommended method again this afternoon.
At some point, after replacing the PVC valve, a non function O-ring on the oil filler tube and new thermostat, the cylinders will clean themselves up a bit. The catch can is already getting a little oil in it, so that's not going to get sucked into the engine anymore.
The valve seals are leaking badly, but I'm not ready to go that deep right now. That's a real chore.
It needs a valve job too, but that requires pulling the engine. 😖

#1 cylinder concerns me. I'll need to do another inspection and see if I can get a better view of something I don't like.
A year and a half ago, I poured in some engine head gasket sealer.
You pour it in, idle the engine for 50 minutes, then let it cool. The sealer hardens from the heat of where the gasket is leaking, typically, near the cylinder.
I noticed this white stuff on the head, directly above where the piston rings stop. There's white stuff and I see a shadow.
I don't know what might happen if this chunk breaks loose. 🫣
Here's a picture showing the top of the piston ring groove and that white thingy. Notice it's shadow?
This head gasket sealer is also known as liquid glass. It's sodium silicate. Great stuff when it hardens in the correct location. Not so good if it hardens where you don't want it to.
If you pour this in your oil, it will quickly seize the engine. Remember "cash for clunkers"
This watery liquid is what dealers poured into the crank case of the clunker to destroy the engine...... and stop global warming 😖

Who carries a tire plug kit in their vehicle? These things have saved me many a time, like at 6 AM and you’re just tryin to get to work.

Woke up to this last week. I pulled the screw, plugged the hole and filled it back up to 80. Took me maybe 10 minutes total to do. Checked my tire this morning and she’s still holding 80. Woot!

Hey, look at the stairs I measured up today.

Of course I have the tire plug kit in the truck.
Of course I dont trust myself to do the repair and always take it to the tire shop and pay $20 anyways.

I don’t trust em either but they are great in a pinch. I’ve put off getting it patched so far because I’m not looking forward to dealing with the tire shop. Yeah it’s free and it won’t take that long but there’s just something about dealing with the tire shops in Phoenix that irk me.

Where I buy my tires they'll fix flats for free if they can just plug it. But they are always super busy and there's half a dozen places I can get it fixed in 15 minutes. I've lived in the same area for 34 years so I have a handful of guys I've been to more than once.

Get a lot of nails/screws/whatnot in the tires on commercial jobsites.

Maybe 6 months ago the boss found some litter out in the yard. He picked it up and brought it into the shop to throw away but upon looking at it we all decided it was art and it had to be saved, the LED eyes was my embellishment and with that was the birth of Hipster Brian.

Fast forward to last week and we believe we’ve found the artist that drew Hipster Brian. He’s a fellow by the name of Illy Mac. Just another homeless dude walkin down an alley in Phoenix.

We don’t judge here so we said hello to dude as he was walking by. He replied with ‘I’m gonna draw your picture’. We kinda thought to ourselves great, now we’re gonna have to give some homeless dude money. We plucked a few 5’s from the money tree. I’m amazed at how someone can see you for just a split second and draw a picture of that split second from memory.

Food for thought is why do 3 of our pictures have circles around them and we’re flipping the bird yet the 4th one is square and flyin a hang loose. Something dude saw and interpreted within that split second of seeing us I guess.

Last week was a busy week as far as the homeless behind our shop are concerned. We had someone hop the fence and decided they wanted to live in one of our trailers. Cops came and it was a couple hour ordeal to get dude out of the trailer.

They fired a couple less than lethal rounds. One of them hit the trailer instead of dude and damn if it doesn’t look like it would drop you in a split second. They also fired a ton of pepper balls at dude while he was still in the trailer.

Needless to say the attitude towards the people that frequent the alley behind us has changed. Illy Mac was walkin down the alley again when the boss was shooing people down the road. Guess this is what he saw. Lol.

Damn that guy is awesome. I can hardly draw a square from memory and if I did I'd probably draw it upside down 😁
Caricatures people horses etc are never anything I could even slightly begin to draw. You got to give me a pencil and a ruler or I'm hopeless.
