I have finally cut all my stair treads and stair nose moldings and placed ready for glue. Because the stairnose leaves a horizontal joint where it meets the tread I opted to just go with one piece treads. I am wondering if I should still have maintained the vertical joint pattern on the stair...

Thanks CJ. I spoke with manufacturer and they don't feel I should be removing the cork. They mention a little extra glue under nosing and it will be level and the PL adhesive sticks better to the cork... I am torn as I did remove the cork on a sample and it definitely fits better. The cork...

Yes, the lvp has a cork backing. Are you saying this has to be removed off of all stair treads to properly use the molding? This is the molding for this LVP so I would be surprised if this is the case. Or is this normal for LVP on stairs? Thanks.

Im not sure the best way to finish these stair edges with this bull nose. I thought I would just cut 45's on them and wrap around stair edge but now that I have them they dont seem to sit flush butting up to edge of the main tread piece so maybe this not what is meant when I hear to wrap it...

I'm familiar with stair gauge. Are you saying I could put these on top of existing treads and risers? I don't think I can remove the treads. If so, would they be glued or screwed or both? Thanks.

Thanks Mark. My concern with cutting off the nosing is the treads are already too narrow and slant down 1/4 inch so I want to try and rectify this a bit in the process. Tom, very nice. I would be more than happy if my finished product looked as good.

I am adding LVP to my basement stairs but I'm not sure what to do to finish the open side edges. See pic of stairs. The railing will be on the wall side...just not sure how to finish the LVP edges on the open side of the stairs. Thanks for your thoughts.
