So at the end of a row I don't cut a board to make it fit?

Been watching a lot of how to videos on laying laminate. Several say to use left over piece of cut board to begin the next row to stagger seam. However, if I cut the board, I loose the lock part of the board. I'm wondering if I can glue it to the second board in the new row?
