LOL. The weather needs to make up it's damn mind on what season it is.
I wonder what the power consumption will be on an electric SUV. And I wonder if they will incorporate solar panels in the windows and/or top. I've heard they can now have windows that work as solar panels.

Weather here hasn't even been bad and this happened in Alexandria at the Pit Grill restaurant -. I don't even know how the the person managed it, but I was told he got out of the car and ran away.

Meanwhile, nobody ever claimed the dog my brother brought home so it looks like we might be keeping her. My brother has been calling her Princess. She answers to Princess, Buttercup, and Princess Buttercup.

She's a very sweet doggy who is mostly quiet. She very rarely barks & she puts up with being growled at by other pets. She weighed 19lbs when we got her but I suspect she'll gain weight because she keeps eating the cat food.

Better the food then the cat !

Good point, Nick. She's actually been very careful around my sick geriatric cat. I'm having to force-feed him every few hours and he doesn't want to stay in the same spot all the time. He wanted out of my room so I left him on his mat next to the waterer and listened for him (in case he was going to start yowling for help/attention). As soon as he yowled, Princess alerted me. Last night when it was cold, one of the other cats snuggled up against the sick cat and when he yowled another one of the cats went over, licked his forehead, and purred for him. Right now it is warm so he's sleeping on top of my sweater. He seemed to perk up a little when I fed him a couple hours ago, but now he's exhausted. I just fed him again, but he still needs to sleep.

Meanwhile, my one-eyed kitty seems to be missing. I hope she's just lounging outside, but I've noticed the snakes are starting to come out. I hope nothing happened to her.

I broke a corner off or a tile in a 12 foot wide sliding glass door entry. The home has two such doorways leading to the lower back yard. It's on concrete. The one inch by one and a half inch tile edge broke off as I was nailing in the tackstrip. When nailing in this situation, I always keep a 6 inch drywall spreader next to the tile held almost straight vertically. That keeps any "glancing blows" from contacting the tile.
Well, in this corner, the large triangular chip broke clean off. There was absolutely no thinset supporting this edge. Hell you might have walked on this edge and broke it off. It was hangin' in thin air waiting for me to just look at it wrong.
Glued the broken corner back to itself with a super strong brand of "super glue", then had the customer look at it. (It was still hollow underneath the tile)
She said it looked ok, but I went back into town to buy some 5 minute epoxy. I flooded the underside of the tile with the epoxy so it's now fully supported and built a dam so the epoxy wouldn't flow back out.
Pissed me off....................... if that tile edge had thinset supporting the tile, it would never have snapped off. There was absolutely no thinset under that corner of the tile...... zero! .................it was just hangin there.
I guess the homeowner figured it was more trouble than it was worth to replace the tile (12 by 24)
The tile guy would have charged more than I made in my my entire day to replace that tile.
I think I'm gonna reduce my charges by 50% for my screw-up.

On top of that, I'm gonna finish that restretch tomorrow instead of getting it done today. I'm re-stretching then tucking the original carpet to this newly installed tile in two downstairs exterior doorways, both are 12 feet wide.. First one looked excellent.
I don't make mistakes, grrrrrr! ....I get called to fix em.................. so right now I'm a bit pissed at myself (and especially the tile guy).
(pardon my English)

I wouldn't cut my price if it was not my fault .. cost you extra money and time to repair it .
I always nail with the length of the stick so i don't miss and hit the tile ..

I hit the nails same as you. Hard to say it wasn't my fault....... not totally.
Using the 6 inch putty knife totally stops you from making a direct strike on the tile. I use that method whenever I'm near stone or tile.
Could someone at a later date, stepped on that tile edge and broken it off. Possible for sure. Probably not if the carpet was installed because that would be just high enough to keep pressure off the corner of that tile. The corner is next to a bed and less than 3 feet from the wall.
Oh well, hope the stretching goes better than nailing the strip.

Went well. Very difficult room to stretch because of all the furniture and the double reclining bed which weighed too much to move. No place to put all this stuff anyway.
To stretch under the bed without removing it (or even moving it), I framed up a new 'wall' within the room using two 4 by 4's and one 2 by 4. I do this often, but this one was different. Once my temporary wall was set up, I used two stretcher heads connected to two stretcher poles to stretch towards the tile......... Works same as a deadman, but different. There was only 20 inches from the bed to the tile that I was stretching towards. Because the bed was so close to the tile, I couldn't raise my stretcher handle which was 10 inches under the bed frame................. so I used two stretcher heads and stretched away from my temporary wall.
I'm trying to draw up a layout for ya that makes sense. Film at 11, as they say, or maybe tomorrow.........;)

OK, tons of heavy furniture and no place to put them. I built a dummy wall for stretching from using a 2x4'and 4x4's on the right side of the room. I stretched away from that dummy wall towards the tiles on the left using two stretcher heads connected to my stretcher poles. Stretcher head B acted like a deadman, sort of........... stretcher "B" was actually was what did the stretching. I used the head and pins of stretcher A to actually do the work at the tile edge.
Stretcher A's handle was unusable because it trapped under the bed frame.
Stretcher B really just needed it's handle to push against the 4x4. It's head and teeth served no real function .
Once I got past the bed, I just stretched normally off of my dummy wall using a single stretcher head as you normally would. Worked out very well.

Highup, that sounds like a total pain to deal with.

My cat is not doing well. My brother suggested getting the vet to administer a shot of B12 but I was afraid the cat would die on the trip to the vet because he panics. I asked my brother to go get the B12 from the vet while I sat with the cat to make sure he was ok. My brother was going to have to be shown how to administer the shot. He refused. I then asked him to at least sit with the cat so he wouldn't be alone and I could go to the vet. He refused to do even that. So, I spent the day watching over him. When I had to cook dinner for my mother, I set up the cordless phones as a baby monitor so I could hear if he cried. I was just getting the pasta out of the pot when he started yowling. I ran to the room and comforted him until he settled down.

He's mostly been sleeping but yowls occasionally and needs to be reassured that I'm still with him. I don't think he can see anymore-- his pupils are dilated so much that his irises are not visible and he showed no signs of being aware of light of anything in his field of vision. Another one of my cats takes anti-seizure medicine and I gave him some just in case (and to help him relax more). He had another bout of yowling and seeming to be in pain shortly before my brother got home and now he's not breathing very well and his heart rate is slower. If the cat lives to Monday, I'm going to see if the vet can make a house call to end his suffering.

Not a pain............. if ya plan. Ya gotta plan to avoid the pain. :D
OK, easier said than done. I work alone so the effort of moving the heavy and tall furniture just wasn't gonna happen. Would have been hard with two people. You'd have to move the furniture 3 times............ all to the right, then all to the left, then back where it came from.

Sad to hear about the kitty. My brother and I have a daily cat. It stops by a few times a day, sometimes hangs out, then leaves. Nice to have it around, but I like it's ways. Have no idea if it has an actual residence or if it just wanders and hangs out here and there.
