Hi. I used water-based polyurethane and wound up with a few sections that look kind of white. Any thoughts on what could have happened, or how to fix?

Thanks.

I used water based poly on finishing a table. It was kind of whitish until it had cured completely. Could be kind of thick in that spot. It also rained when I did the table out side and a few drops got on it and they showed up white until it dried. You don't say how long it was ago done. But if anyone would know it would be ernesto if he chimes in.

Cloudy Finish What it is: The finish appears cloudy or milky. Cause: • Applying finish over a coat that isn’t dry. Cure: Screen and recoat, being sure to increase the dry time between coats. Check with a damp rag before reapplication of finish to make sure the cloudiness has disappeared—if the finish appears clear when it is dampened, the problem probably has been eliminated, and the floor is ready to be coated over.

Thanks, I will try that. Love that Emo Phillips reference.
