Got a 'new to me' fridge from a customer. It was leaking on the floor periodically so they bought a new one. This fridge seems to work great, just had a water issue. It's an outdoor fridge for me............. I'll keep it in the carport so a dribble now and then won't be an issue. They have a new floor, so it wasn't going to go back into service for them.
Made a couple of runs to the in town city dump to make some space in the carport. I'd rather take my stuff to the dump when I need to rather than pay to have it picked up weekly weather I need it or not. Refuse place is in town and only 2 miles away which is convenient.
Feels good having some additional elbow room now, having gotten rid of some old tackstrip boxes and carpet rems an old chair etc. I put stuff off too long sometimes. The carpet rems work nice for when I change my oil or work under the rig . When the rem gets oiled or dirty, I trash it.
Amazing how quickly crap piles up.
Pile gone, so me happy camper. ........I still need to organize and sort what's left to make more space. Too much crap, not enough room for it.
Anyway, feels good getting a project like this out of the way. Better than setting on my butt watching Batman or Gomer Pile.

Putting up a handrail on the porch. Drilled into the concrete, started to put in the anchor bolts, no 8mm socket. Had to stop and go to Walmart, closest place, spend $1.28 for a socket. Probably have 300 Snap On, Mac and Craftsman sockets. Never can find what I need. Probably never need it again. And now it is raining again

Love the Velociraptors, the road runner totally remind me of them. They eat anything from small birds to snakes and are extremely fast.

One of the local flooring store owners asked me today at the lumberyard if I was still laying carpet. I said, why, can't find any installers? He said, can't find any good ones. Never changes, does it?

There was this box for you to put in a business card at Big D flooring supply. Turned out it was western states flooring looking for installers. They are having a difficult time finding good installers. Maybe I'll win a tile saw.
I doubt it because I have written them up for numerous installation claims.

Went out and done a 20 yd BR this AM myself. Drop, easy money for an 1 1/2 hours worth of work. Did 120 yd house a week ago, starting to get back in shape again. Now all I have to do is get calluses on my knees again and the hair worn off.
Don't know that
I want 120 yds. But drop bedrooms would be nice.

It helps when the correct carpet is specified for the job. Customer (and installer) not happy when the installer brings the wrong stuff.
Customer went to pick out a different carpet after the color issue got figured out.

I was expecting one room yesterday, not two.
I was expecting a one piece room.
Next, I discovered only after calling in the carpet cuts, that the carpet that was chosen for these rooms was supposed to match the hallway. That meant laying it the other direction and now requiring two closet seams.
Had the warehouse guy make another 8 foot long cut for the closets. I drove down to the warehouse with the tearout material from the rooms and then loaded up the carpet cuts and pad.
I installed the pad and the customer assisted getting the carpet into the rooms. They left to pick up their dog and I unrolled the carpet. This carpet looked nothing like the hall carpet. Way too light and had a longer pile. After they returned home and saw the problem, and by the time the decision was made to reject the carpet and pick out a different one, it was 4:45pm. They came down to that warehouse and looked everything over and made another choice. I got the carpet to the house just after 5 and left close to 9pm after helping the customer re-load the room.
The floors in the rooms were particle board but the base was that 1960's wooden base with the shoe sculpted into it. They put that kind of base on hardwood floors but I'd never seen in on a particle board floor. Nightmare to tuck carpet against.
Long day, with one room done and my ass was whipped. Time for Ibuprofen. Spent 1/2 they day wasting time.
Customer is very happy so that's good.

That's the stuff. I hand trimmed both rooms because I feared the trimmer might cut it consistently short or consistently long by a tad.
The carpet was nice to work with and that helped. It's A new PET product the Carpet One dealer is stocking. It's from a new mill that from what I was told is pretty high tech. It only produces PET products and does so under tightly controlled conditions to make the product have characteristics as close to nylon as it can get. The feel and texture of the product is very nice and looks like it's going to become a possible game changer in the PET products.
I really like it.
