I meant "potential immigrants". Illegals, in real terms , implies that 90% would skip their hearing to become legal citizens. Shame on me for thinking otherwise.

So I guess these smart legislator know how many degrees f the earths temperature will go up if I let my vehicle idle for 2 minutes. Maybe they will install meters on our cars.............. not kidding, they are already doing trials.
I can't begin to imagine the impact this will have on every business considering what they buy or what they are allowed to put in their garbage cans. I'm thinking my vehicles would become be illegal if they deemed it necessary to save mankind.

The Oregon Republican legislators have left the state to avoid voting on this bill. This bill is deemed and "emergency" bill. Doing so would make it harder for voters to reverse this idiocy.
The are trying to shove carbon taxes down out throats rather than ask us to vote on it.
Our governoris had ordered the Oregon State Police to arrest these legislators and drag them back to the capitol and force them to vote. They are all currently hiding in other states waiting for time to run out. Then maybe Oregonians can vote on this stupid business killing bill.

I'd love to know the total cost of implementing this plan including how many office staff, how many Department heads, how many enforcement individuals. Not to mention the cost for the operation of this boondoggle......... buildings, vehicles (electric of course) and charging stations, electrical costs . Their office buildings will probably set an example for being "green" With grass roofs, $200 per yard wool carpet, (natural) and 100 million in solar electric and solar water heating grids to run the place. You know if Oregon builds a new state "carbon tax office" it will be the greenest building ever made to set "a good example"
I'd also like to see the cost to the business in Oregon. The cost of implementation and changes and record keeping for compliance, fines, fees.
Not to mention small businesses or one man businesses like truck drivers put out of business because of not being able to afford to comply.
So what would be the true cost to the state..... how many businesses will pack up and leave?

IIRC, there were loggers peacefully protesting the changes not too long ago in Oregon & the Oregon GOP twitter is now claiming there are armed militia members ready to shoot the Democrats & threatening legislators & police over it.

Any of the environmental changes they are proposing need to be done gradually & will likely require some form of subsidies to help transition over- but, question is where is the $ going to come from?

It's better when the market makes the changes, not the government. The government can encourage changes. They can, through state or local college programs, help invent or discover ways to make environmentally sound products, better and cheaper.................. so that they can compete with what we have and use now.
You want solar on your roof? .........then the industry needs to make it cheap enough. If it's cheap enough, people will buy the products without the government shoving it down our throats.

Talked to a local farmer this morning. He will be plowing his soybeans under. Because of the tariff, the grain elevators have quit buying them. As a small farmer, losing a few hundred acres of crops will really hurt financially.

There was already a glut of soybeans.

Is the federal government paying him to destroy his crop? This is a common practice, I hear.

Not nearly enough to equal market prices, but 16 billion is what I've seen.

One other thing is that we don't sell soy beans only to China, and we only export 50% of what we grow. Media never mentions that and makes it appear we lost out entire soybean market because of Trumps tariff stalemate.
