Been a few years since I was there, last time only at the airport, but LA seems to have changed a bit and not for the good

Yeah, Hav's right, it seems to be getting out of hand. There's always a few who don't want a job and likes living off the street, but I think the majority would like a job that would pay for a decent house and food. Course the weather is an attraction there for sure vs living in lower AZ in the summer.

I bet a large percentage of those homeless around the country are veterans. There's lots of them here in Tucson. Shit, they can't even get help from the VA thanks to Trump. Cus you need an address and paid utility bills to get help. Otherwise your screwed.
Our city interviewed 335 bums, and found one veteran. He was driven to the VA, and was in an apartment that night. When I was on patrol, it was my job to document all transients. I interviewed 155 transients and not one is a veteran. Bums know having a dog and saying you are a veteran will double your offramp intake of money. As a matter of fact, there was even a book written about how to increase your profits. Let me find that for you.

We have a little city of veterans here living in a wash. You cannot join the city unless you can prove your a vet. They take care of each other. Our VA hospital is huge in Tucson. They regularly fuck vets over for treatments.
I was working in the Psych ward once many moons ago installing vinyl. I told the nurse to keep away all the patients from my tool box cus it was loaded down with razor blades. Went to lunch and came back and this dude (vietnam vet) was rummaging through my tool box. Nurse says "its ok he cuts up his bed all the time". I'm like, your a fucking idiot.

People should know handing out money to pan handlers is not a good thing. Most feel sorry for them which you should not. Anyone of them can get assistance at nearly 20 different entities that help homeless people.
I used to do free work for these people until I realized how much money they have in the bank. But you can't get in unless you find Jesus.

They just bought a huge old hotel with hundreds of rooms to help the homeless.
Friend of mine lost his leg because a VA hospital screwed up.
My brother in law died as a result of the VA dragging their feet on an urgent medical condition. I hear they have gotten better, but far from good.

In Orange County, they forced all the bums out of the area of Anaheim Stadium and placed them into a hotel nearby, for a court ordered 30 day placement. After 30 days, all the bums left because they are free spirits and don't want rules. The hotel was so damaged, it had to be torn down to the ground because the hotel was fully destroyed.
