So far there's 3 r err Republicans
Do you really see anyone to vote for? Or will it be another "lesser of two evils" election.
I really don't like Trump. But I don't see a Democrat I could even think of voting for.
Maybe I won't vote.
So far there's 3 republicans that say they will run against the Dumpster. Vote for one of them and get the real republican party back.

Ernesto, the problem is the RNC is trying to cancel primaries in multiple states so that no Republican candidates can run against Trump in 2020. Joe Walsh actually seems somewhat reasonable as a Republican candidate.

As for the Democrats, Harris believes in the 2nd Amendment & carries a gun herself but she thinks the AR-15s should be banned & that we should have universal background checks. I know a lot of people who have guns who think we could use a little more sensible gun control laws-- although frankly, controlling the ammo would go further than trying to control the guns. Unless the guns break, they are around for a long time. Ammo is expendable. It makes things worse for the law abiding citizens, but that happens with a lot of things. It sucks, but it's part of life. I'm trying to find out about USAA car insurance now bc State Farm just doubled our premiums for no apparent reason. That is part of the reason why I am opposed to people having to get a license & insurance for regular firearms.

zanne, a lot of people reload ammo.
True. But not all ammo can be re-used. & the ammo has to be made correctly. Bad ammo can destroy guns. My sister had her gun blow up on her bc of some defective ammo. Fortunately, she was only scratched a little but she had to get a new gun & never bought ammo from that gun store again.

I think if they do try to go through with the buying guns from people they need to first establish what the penalties will be for NOT selling the guns as well as what will happen to the guns once they are taken. I think people will want guarantees that the police/government aren't going to use those guns against citizens. They will also want to be assured that those guns will not be given or sold to foreign adversaries or other countries who may use them against us.

I do think that general gun safety classes are a good idea though. First thing is that guns are not toys & should not be handled carelessly.

Theres got to be several million Ar's out there. Some from before the ban. Many put together with parts, uppers and lowers put together legally. Very difficult to track. Many bought and sold legally by honest citizens without background checks for cash. Some lost in boating accidents. Haha Some buried just because.
Ain't no way the government is gonna get all of them.

Yeah, the idea that they are going to "buy back" ALL of them is just ridiculous. There are people who will shoot the cops before they can take their guns away.

The problem I see is that the general population doesn't want to be out gunned.
The LEO'S had a similar problem and the got what ever they wanted, full auto.
It all started with those LA bank robbers who decimated the police force when they got cornered after a robbery. They had full auto machine guns, bullet proof clothing and weird ass helmets. The police had shotguns and pistols.

Well we all have done stupid shit in our younger years.
I'm just happy there's a couple competent Republicans running against Trump.

I think it depends on the crimes committed. A lot of members of both parties have gotten into trouble in their youth. I think Beto's inability to see the nuances of the gun control & the fact that he's escalating instead of de-escalating tensions with his "buyback" thing makes me think he's not fit. He needs to carefully weigh the options & think about how his words affect the general populace. All he keeps saying is "We're going to take your guns" but no details on how (other than buying them), what will be done with them once purchased, what will happen if people refuse to sell, etc.

Besides Joe Walsh, who else is running on the GOP side now?

Joe Walsh? Member of the Eagles band?

Or so he claims.
If he donated any $, I doubt it was actually his own. He doesn't really have much in the way of liquid assets bc he's so deeply in debt. He has a bunch of properties but he owes tons of $ to banks on them. He likely pulled it from somewhere else if he actually did. He's not a charitable person & the only reason he would donate money would be if it wasn't his and/or it somehow benefited him.
He is still regularly stealing millions from the St. Judes fundraiser Eric Trump set up.

My uncle doesn't have much in liquid assets either......... ya can't make money if it's hidden in a mattress. :D

He didn't donate to the Bahamas, but did to Texas and Louisiana after Harvey hit them.

Whistleblower

Mystery Revealed – CIA Gossiper Eric Ciaramella: Democrat, Former NSC Staff, Worked with Joe Biden and John Brennan…

Paul Sperry from RealClearInvestigations has outlined the CIA “whistle-blower” who originated the hearsay complaint against President Trump as Eric Ciaramella.

According to the researched outline, Ciaramella worked closely with Democrat operative, Alexandra Chalupa in 2016 to advance the anti-Trump effort; and this year Ciaramella worked closely with HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff’s staff to continue his efforts.
