Ernesto, that looks beautiful! Reminds me a bit of Guam.
It's starting to cool off here & the cats don't like the cold so I have a pile of them on me right now. LOL. At least they are keeping me warm too.
The height of the upright tall pantry seems very awkward to me. Can you order a small box to raise the lever with the wall cabinets?
Good point, although after measuring I see that the cabinets will not be that much higher as the ceiling is about 3" lower than I'd thought. My friend was happy with how it looks in the picture & he can store stuff on top of the pantry since it's an 18"x24" spot. The ceiling is also not straight at all so we'll have to go along and figure out where the lowest spot is. I need a thicker measuring tape than the one I was using earlier bc it kept flopping over instead of reaching higher.

Rusty, that's really cool! I enjoyed my ceramics class in high school. I wish I was more skilled at it. I made some ugly pieces & some OK pieces. I think the best one from the lot was my Aladdin's lamp style teapot. The art teacher liked it enough she wanted me to take her class.

I'm trying to get the energy to get up and clean but my back is being hateful & I feel exhausted for no reason. I'm planning a trip to see my sister so I'm trying to get things in order before leaving. I want to make sure the litterboxes are clean, HVAC filters changed, enough food for the cats, etc. I need to clean up the pantry & take care of chores my brother was supposed to do. I'll need to figure out how to get my door to stay shut so the cats can't force it open while I'm gone. I don't want any of them getting closed in accidentally (the door sometimes swings back shut or closes all the way).I'm thinking maybe a string or rubberband from the doorknob to a knob on the closet door just outside might help.

The old 250.000 k Falcon wouldnt go backwards the other day NZ$3000 to fix then solenoid on starter died $350 so decided time for the Falcon to go where old Falcon station wagons go
Then try and find another wagon big enough in the back to replace it as we use 1.2m wide sheets of underlayment along with 2m wide vinyls as I do not want a van especially at my stage of life
So I am picking this wagon up at the end of the week
Do you reckon its going to work?

Hope I got a few more years left Daris
Got to get another trip into Vegas before I give up the flooring
And they are giving me $500 for the trade in I am going to make sure there isnt much petrol in the old one as it costs about $140 to fill it
The one I am getting is actually blue

I always used Ford vans here because of the size. Back in the 80s, they were 12' from the doghouse (engine cover) to the back and our flooring was 12' long. Chevys were about 11' 10". Dodge was about 10' 8". In the winter, I did not want to drive with the back doors open.

Is there a version of cargurus in NZ? Can find some good listings for vehicles on it for the US.

This morning I got up early & took my truck to get a rear alignment (it has independent suspension for rear & front & is 4wd). Asked about the prices & the shop owner told me that they usually do the front & rear at the same time- price was reasonable. The got it up and looked at it & came back & told me the problem was a ball joint had too much play & needed to be replaced. He then called a parts guy & said what the vehicle was. He had to tell him over & over bc the guy apparently never heard of a Honda truck before. He described it as having a ball joint on one end & a bushing on the other. I commented that it sounded like a control arm & he said "It might be a control arm." while speaking to the guy on the phone. Turns out I was right. Part will arrive tomorrow morning so I can get it done.

After the tire place I took my brother to the casino so he could get his ID renewed. Then back toward home & stopped at Walmart for some groceries. I picked up two butter garlic rotisserie chickens. My brother cooked a steak for me & I dissected the chickens and put the meat in ziploc bags. We use them for burritos, sandwiches, mix in with stuffing, etc.

Its been raining so the roads were almost flooded. I heard there's some flooding down in New Orleans & a Hard Rock Hotel that was under construction collapsed yesterday (not sure if that had anything to do with weather). I'm still trying to convince myself to do more cleaning. On the bright side, since I set a trash can right next to the fridge & freezer, my brother actually put trash in it instead of throwing the trash on the floor like he usually does.

zannej we have similar but the Edge/Endura has only been here a couple of years
Sounds like your having troubles with your vehicles like I was having thats why I have dropped it. I thought I would use some money sitting in the bank to have something "nice" as the bank doesnt pay any interest these days, my money just about going backwards sitting in the bank. I used to get a brand new vehicle every two years but I started using the money for a new car on overseas travel while I am still "young" enough to enjoy travel

Jon, I think my vehicle is at the age where the control arms should be replaced-- it's also possible that it was damaged in the accident last year & the repair place might not have noticed since they were only looking at the front end. The impact was enough to break the strut, pop the tire, destroy the fender, & dent the hood. It may have been enough to shake something loose in the rear as well. Or it could have happened from the many pot holes on my road. The logging trucks have been tearing it up. It seems its only on the rear driver side though. The truck is due for more maintenance as well-- filter changes, checking oil & transmission, etc. It still runs fine. Most of the problems I'm having are in relation to the accident- things that didn't get fixed properly. I was told that the tie rod not being secured (resulting in the front coming out of alignment & tires almost coming off) could have pushed the inner fender loose which is why it rubbed the tire & tore- allowing water to splash up into the fog light. Plus the repair shop didn't do the wiring for the daytime running lights properly. Unfortunately, I will not be able to recoup more $ for fixing his mistakes without taking him to small claims court & it's really not worth the filing fees & wasted time. I just wish the drunk moron hadn't caused the accident in the first place. I also wish that his insurance company would cover all of the expenses related to it-- including the botched repair but I know that won't happen.

I have to order the new inner fender-- I might do that tomorrow. My friend can put it on. I also need to find some good LED bulbs for the fog lights & get them put in. Eventually I'll get them all changed out to LEDs but it's not urgent-- although the CRV really needs better headlights. The default ones suck.

I never understood the thing of getting a new vehicle every couple years. It always seemed wasteful to me. My family pretty much keep our vehicles until they are totaled or cost too much to keep fixing. But I understand a lot of people do that.

Its strange to me that his insurance company paid anything if he was drunk
Here your insurance company would fix your wagon then sue him for the costs No insurance here if you are drunk
By getting a new vehicle here every couple of years I have found that the car service workshops put you in front of the older cars when you need service, also loan cars are more available to the customers with the newer vehicles When the car is newer one looks after it more and little marks/scratches etc dont become big ones. Tax wise one gets more deprecation on a newer car than on one like mine which is worth only $500 on the books today so really tax wise the car has cost me nothing over the years If I sold it more than what it is on the books for I would have to pay tax on the higher amount
And what would you rather drive an old dunga or a new one?
The old Falcon has only all the basics radio, air conditioning and thats about it while the new one has all the bells and whistles. I havent even learned to use all the functions on my phone yet let alone trying to work out everything this new wagon has got

Anybody want to earn $20 to empty this for me?
13 years of stuff I might need on a job one day
And do you think it will fit in the back of the new one?View attachment 9780
OMG! LOL You need a regular sized van son. How do you find anything in there? I use a quad cab 3/4 ton dodge ram long bed 4x4 with a shell on the bed.

Jon, the cops didn't report that the other driver was drunk. They were his friends so they left that out & didn't do a sobriety test even though he told me he'd been drinking & I told the cops. They acknowledged it but lied on the report to say he didn't smell of alcohol. They also lied & said he was going 55mph in a 55 zone but he was going faster than that in a 45. They didn't ding him for crossing in to the wrong lane (oncoming traffic) in a no-passing zone. The cop did say in the report that he was "completely at fault" but they also lied & said that I was "inattentive"- which really really pissed me off. I told them I wasn't looking at that side of the road bc there should not have been any traffic traveling in that lane in that direction & I was focusing on where I was turning in the frickin' dark with no street lights. The other driver decided to try to pass me even though I had min indicator on, he also chose to speed up rather than brake when he saw me turning. Then he chose to hit my truck rather than keep trying to go around bc he didn't want to hit the trees. He should have gone to jail but the cops figured that having his vehicle totaled was punishment enough.

Today was busy- I got the control arm replaced & alignment done. Had my transmission & oil checked (they both need changing asap- doing that tomorrow). Cleaned up, took my brother to the casino to get his ID but his dumb butt forgot to bring his old ID, picked up mail, dropped Mom's walker off at friend's house so he could reupholster the seat w/ materials I provided, went to Sams to stock up on cat food & water, picked up my prescription, cooked dinner, & am currently transferring data to a 4tb drive to put on my laptop. Around 4pm my mother mentioned she wanted me to do her laundry bc she told my sister last night that we were leaving tomorrow. I had a minor freakout bc this was news to me & I don't even know where our luggage is. I told her there was no freaking way I could be ready to go tomorrow & she should have at least told me. I figured Friday or Saturday would be better so we called my sister to tell her.

I'm providing my own filter & oil for the oil change bc they use crappy oil at the dealership & their OEM filters are garbage. Got the stuff that's supposed to last a year. No idea what filter to use for the transmission fluid but was told their OEM filter is ok. I still need to order an inner fender liner & the clips. Hoping to do that tomorrow.

zannej I reckon you should out of there
