I’ve never installed that brand and although I don’t see what the finish is or a hardness rating 3.2 mm solid wood wear layer sounds like a high quality engineered wood. The specs say glue or nail. Why not just go with a full spread?

7” wide boards…Better safe than sorry.

It would be interesting to see the detailed legal terminology in the lifetime structural warrantee.
Looks like a decent product.

That is an European vendor that is wide spread in Europe and East Asia
Yes my installer told me it is high quality engineered wood

Well the installer is telling me he wants to do glue assist
I guess I will have to pay more for full spread. (work and materials)
However he is going to have to stand behind his work so if that is the case then if something goes wrong he will have to fix it if it is proved that it is due to the installation method
They have an office in Toronto where I live so I will give them a call (all email-blast all that list of directors they have in the About us section )

Yeah somethings could go wrong because they are under embargo and they might not be able to supply replacements or even sell anything anymore in Canada or world wide. The reseller that I am dealing with is telling me they still have this in stock

I can only speak for myself but I’d rather pay extra now than find boards coming loose in a year or three and try to find the installer to come back and fix them. Usually they would have to be replaced so you would then need to have or find extra material. How much of a “discount” is the installer giving you for glue assist over full spread?

How’s the subfloor? Quality plywood, smooth and flat and in good shape to hold a nail?

7” is a wide board more prone to trouble.

I’ll say it again… Better safe than sorry.

We did not discuss the price for full spread.
Right now there is diagonal wood boards installed on top of my joists
The existing hardwood is nailed to those
The plan is to remove the old hardwood, screw the existing diagonal boards in place and then add plywood over these and screw this plywood to them. On top of all these there will be the above mentioned hardwood
Seems reasonable to me considering that this is engineered hardwood and it will be both glued (glue assist) and nailed down using flooring staples.

J just gave them a call and I asked about the above
They said that if you nail/staple the boards every 10" glue assist is fine

I wouldn't use 3/8. The fasteners need some thickness, besides most 3/8" is only three plies.
The more plies, the more stability.

Dont forget that I have the original diagonal boards under the plywood
The installer was telling me he will use like 2" fasteners
