After a week, i was able to hit the steps again. I decided against flipping the treads and risers. ( I figured going into the laundry room and looking at them from the back, i wouldn't be happy ) So sanding is the route i went. The Craftsmen sandpaper from lowes wasn't cutting it. I went to Harbor freight to grab something and noticed the Hercules sand paper and grabbed a couple packs.. Great Sandpaper. Finished the treads and started the risers.. I need to repair a broken outer corner on one.. All for today..

I'm surprised that glue came off and the wood sanded down so clean. That should paint up real nicely
The glue was clogging the sandpaper as it heated up. But the sand paper I got from Harbor freight worked much better and seemed to cut through much better. I'm happy with how it's looking.
