    Basement floor pillar question

I'd form up a slightly larger base at least an inch bigger larger all around, slather some concrete glue all over your existing, shattered post base AND the entire concrete floor. Let it completely dry. https://www.quikrete.com/productlines/concretebondingadhesive.asp Use this to repair that...

    What did you do today?

Well the 3/4 ton suspension did make a huge difference with heavy rolls of carpet as far as stability. The ass end would swing around with the 1/2 ton even if the roll was not so heavy.

    What did you do today?

I was just under 300K on my '87 S10 when I I sold that one and bought a '93----same engine, same 8' bed but it had the Tahoe package. I bought that Sold that one a few years back with just under 300K again. I bought that Tahoe S10 in 95 with ~35K on it. The '87 had a 3/4 ton suspension the...

    Discussing politics and religion

The 2020 presidential election was the most secure election in history. Lockdowns stopped the spread. Cotton surgical masks kept the virus out. No workable treatments were available save the vaccines. The same vaccines resulted in no death or injury. The Russians dynamited their own Nord...

    Gas prices going nuts

What I recall, but I didn't recall the date was filling up my Astro van and it was over $100 . And my recollection was it was a fairly sudden price leap. So I have to use historical charts to fill details. If national price was ~$4 no doubt Los Angeles area was over $5 and that's also consistent...

Finishing Carpet at Ten foot wide archway

My last choices are generally plastic or metal transitions. So, as there's a handful of alternatives I'd rank them from best to worst. Labor and material costs are almost always considerations for the customer and the contractors. As an employee I'm happy to do anything they agree to. One thing...

I'd avoid the transitions with any of the alternatives you listed before using metal or plastic strips.

Agreed. Because the chart isn't trying to distinguish cause of death, just demonstrate a statistical aberration. I'm only confused about the distinction between the blue bars and the burgundy asterisks-------predicted vs observed. I'd guess predicted was an initial estimate based on reports...

    Discussing politics and religion

I dont think you're understanding the actual relationship between those two lines. It's just math. The RANGE of expected deaths is not a prediction. It's a formula. The upper line is just the high end of the range based on the lower line-------the actual statistical (historical) average. What...

Advice on replacing flooring in the main level of our home

That actually looks pretty nice and I'm sure it's a decent product. I've installed very similar engineered wood in commercial spaces and they loved it. As your tastes lean toward that hand scraped-----antique or distressed look site finish isn't for you. You will need to replace the boards if...
