Is this White Line Syndrome (WLS)?

I was wiping the floor today with a microfiber cloth to clean up water from the dog after being out in the rain. I noticed this at the end of one of my floor boards after I was finished. I'm nervous that I pulled up some of the finish (although I was wiping pretty lightly). After Googling, I...

Water stain or mold? Also mild crowning.

It's solid hardwood with a cork underlayment and wood subfloor underneath. This happened almost 11 months ago - so it has had a significant amount of time to dry. The good news is that nothing feels loose. The floor is still very solid despite the gaps and crowning that have occurred. We do...

Water stain or mold? Also mild crowning.

We had a water spill in our kitchen (water filter didn’t insert correctly and water dumped onto the floor). We did our own clean up. In retrospect we should have brought in some equipment, but we put fans on it and allowed it to air dry. At first, there was cupping. But that went away after...

Thanks - we do try to keep his nails trimmed. These floors have been so disappointing with how easily they scratch.

White scratches on pre-finished hardwood floors

I have a lot of surface scratches on our hardwood floors. Mostly from our dog’s nails, I believe. Rubbing things like Old English Scratch Cover over them has no effect. Since they are just surface scratches, and the dog will probably just cause more, we don’t want to do a refinish just yet. We...
