    Roberts cotton head attachment

I'd probably try Chemrex or equivalent. If it will hold tackstrip with a stretch on it it should hold that.

    Name a better band

Normally, I do all the music myself, but lately I’ve been teaming up with better musicians. This is the first one where I let somebody else do all the music. I’m just not all that country. He’s a much better guitar player than I am. In high school, I procrastinated on picking my classes in the...

    Name a better band

My dad turns 81 next month and he hasn’t been able to play at all for a year or two. It would suck but I’ve always been more in to the writing side. That’s fortunate as I’m really not all that good a musician. In fact all the music on this one was done by a friend of mine. A guy I met when I...

    Name a better band

Thanks. I get that a lot but I’ve never been good at shaking my ass and I’m a bit past my sexy expiration date so I don’t see myself getting off my knees any time soon.

Would you consider this to be a professional installation?

6'4" and about 290. I'm already way to tall for the floor covering business. I honestly don't know how you do it.

Would you consider this to be a professional installation?

Looks hella bad to me. Seems like they intentionally used a 3 tile pattern, which is not how I've ever seen it done by a pro but then where the wall juts out they don't even line that up properly.

    Polyester them and now

The jury is still out. I think it will be several years before we know anymore than the marketers want us to.

    First day on the job?

Did a job last week. Every seam in the house was done with sticky tape and the pad was all upside down. Upstairs it was stapled every inch around the perimeter( and taped) about every 6" out in the field. Downstairs it was glued to the concrete with latex. Not just latex but damn good latex. I...

    Stair Staple placement

Out here 95%+ sets of stairs are upholstered under the nose. So you get that in two spots. I always stick the staples in the crotch as tight as I can then I beat them in with a hammer and stair tool to hide them. I use a metric shit ton of staples. The more you use, the less they show IMHO...

    Gas prices going nuts

Gas was over $5 last week and today was $3.27. Granted I was in California last week...

    Cordless Brad Nailers

I have the Dewalt and as I don't have anything to compare it to, I love the thing. I bought it on a whim. I had maybe 200' of shoe to put down, my compressor was out of commision and I didnt feel like fixing it, so I splurged. I don't do a lot of hard surface so figured there would be some...

    Welcome to my nightmare

No, I do not but my guy was able to curve the wide binding a bit on the last one. I showed him the same pic and he thinks it's doable. The binding would be on top of my charge and I imagine he'll want a near $1k on his end. I haven't sent her any numbers yet, I'm assuming she knows it will be...

    Welcome to my nightmare

We have the Highpoint Furniture market out here twice a year and sisal looks good with everything, so it's used almost exclusively. I've installed 10's of thousands of yards of the stuff. I've installed 1000+ yards for the spring market, only to do the exact same space in the fall because they...

    Welcome to my nightmare

120 miles out of town and they want to use sisal. I did a set with sisal and 4 curved steps last year and I still don’t know where to start with pricing this.

    To redo completely or repair

I this this is the one legitimate use case for white patch. It's gypsum based like the gypcrete.

    Creative Carpet Stretching

Another trick. Attach a piece of rug hold pad to your butt board. You probably could have made that stretch without the contraption. You have to replace it every few months but it sticks to baseboard like glue when you are pulling away from an angle like that.

    Rueben needs some help.

I did a 1700yd empty furniture store in July mostly by myself. Two floors, 3 sets of steps (one had to be contacted). I had help the first couple weekends delivering the carpet, pulling up the old and laying out the new. The rest I did by myself. Not to mention, the first 2 weeks I had a full...

    Vehicle maintenances costs

That's where I'nm at right now. Yesterday a decorator asked me for a price to go to the beach about 4 hours away and do a stair runner. I quoted her $1200. She just got back and said the carpet is on the way. Little does she know I was ready for a beach trip anyway.
