Removed all flooring on 1st story. Down to floor joists. I just finished my blocking between the joists. Joists are 2’x8’x12’. I install the blocking every 16” on center. I staggered them every other joist. My question is.... I realize it’s overkill. Could this extra weight cause me problems down the road or is it just extra sturdy? I wanted to make sure I don’t have any squeaky or bouncy floors.. any advise is appreciated.

I'd think anything making it stronger would make it hold more weight. The additional weight is miniscule.

Hoping you won't have wires, plumbing or duct work to do between the joists.
