I live in Hawaii where hardwood is a bit less common. We have a very high moisture content in the air ,don't know if that applies to my question or not.

I am refinishing a teak floor for my hanai mom, just finished stripping and sanding it. I am wondering what the very best type of product to finish this natural teak floor is? We want it to be not too shiny as to minimize the showing of flaws, and really hold up to a beating. Keeping the natural amber color of the wood is what we are going for, not darkening it too much. Thanks for any advice.

Is it a large area? Do you know what kind of finish was on the floor? Possibly wax?
I am not a wood floor expert, but here's a tidbit that worth looking at:

If teak oil is something you would consider, be forewarned about wet rags, soaked with it.

I'm thinking waxes or oil can be reapplied easier than any other kind of flooring finish.......... and whatever you use, be sure it specifically mentions that it is ok to use on teak.

My neighbor, used several rags to oil the stakebed rails and bed of his truck the day before they were leaving the state in their new motorhome. During the night, the rags caught fire, igniting his truck, which quickly traveled to his new diesel pusher motorhome. It then caught his garage on fire, along with two other neighbors garages. All was a total loss.

Yes, that stuff needs to be handled correctly!
