Birch or maple on the picture?

I have a long discussion with my insurance agent about what type of floor it is for the purpose of replacing it.

Is it possible to determine is it birch or maple from the picture?

Looks more like Maple to me, but that is a guess.

I can't tell. You ought to compare with samples from a local store. That's some busy wood.
