Can the Hardwood floors be refinished?

We purchased a home recently that was built in 2008 and was told by someone that the floors could not be refinished due to the Hand sewn type finish. I love the look of the Hand sewn but I would like to get it back to new like condition. Has anyone had experience with refinishing this type of flooring?

They probably can be but you will probably loose the ridges due to sanding, but I"m no expert in wood floors.

Neither am I, but it might take hand sanding with the grain.
