Also,I was taught to have 8 inches between butt joints. Some of his looked 2 inches or less.

Stair-stepping , That's some nailing schedule he has there . I couldn't watch all of it .
I inspected some where they actually nailed one row , skipped the next , then nailed the next throughout the floor .
