I just saw this on the news and wondering...

I have thousands of $$ in Craftsman tools, which are warranteed for life. Whose life, me or the company's?

I don't trust Stanley. At one time they had a lifetime warranty on tape measures they sold at Walmart. Then they quit honoring it.

Sears is selling Craftsman to Stanley/Black and Decker for $900 million
That will almost pay for the last 2016 1/4 loss.
Sears should have looked at Amazon's work practices 10 years ago and tried to copy them............ they doomed themselves figuring that the big money was in retail stores.

Years ago i had three of their stores , you install 100 yds of cpt , and if the customer didn't like the color they would replace it for free .

They haven't announced closing the one in Flint yet but I don't know why. You can shoot a cannon down the aisles and not hit anyone. The shelves are kind of sparse also. It's only a matter of time I figure.
Kind of what happens when one corporation buys out another. They go into the crapper.
