Never did this b4. I have this wood tongue n groove floor that looks rustic with deep v shaped channels between plank at joints. I want to make it look good by any means. (Thoughts? Epoxy, or fill with floor compound to level then top w/vinyl tile) image of floor here at http://www.totw.org/1floor/v1.jpg thanks in advance.

I think I would just learn to love the floor. Looks pretty high quality. It's a sin to cover that with plastic. Trying to fill the grooves isn't something I'd consider. Depending on your financial circumstances, your taste, time consideration and other possible constraints you might just tear that floor out and buy the one (style) you prefer. Of course a lot of that depends on if this is your Forever Home or just some Flip This House scenario. Hard to give that sort of advice without those particulars.
