We can’t control parenting styles but we can control who we allow to purchase a gun.

If the MPPPP Squad receives a call from a concerned family member, friends, or anyone, they simply dispatch a private investigator to observe and take action as needed. Owning a gun comes with responsibilities ! Break those responsibilities or codes of conduct and you will need to take a class. Gun owners need to be held to a higher standard.

If you want to express your second amendment, you must demonstrate you’re a responsible citizen to do so.
Look at it this way…. You wouldn’t want untrained people , with the wrong skills and equipment climbing a mountain above you, because now the life of a properly trained and equipped climber below them is at risk. The slope is slippery
That’s why we need to regulate who’s allowed to climb and carry the equipment.

Ironically, I would not be apposed to having secret 🤫 militia groups, as long as each member passed the MPPPP Squad gun readiness class. We can’t do this without the NRA, They really do need to step up and be the parent you are looking for. Yes ! It starts at home, but it also doesn’t end there.

I will just stick with the 2nd. It has worked for a long time. I will not give up my guns. When I was working in KC, a gun saved me twice from at the very least getting mugged, maybe killed.

And why should or will you. You’re a responsible gun owner. No one is coming, but I think I get it. Just the thought of any type of control, above and beyond today’s process is concerning.

As a side note, I finished and delivered the woven wool area rug. A 34 year old Construction Project manager who volunteers as part of a security team at his church. So I had a gun owning discussion and shared my idea about profiling new gun owners. He said, at his local gun shop, it’s already being done, as they converse with the customers. So ! Why not scale it up and create a formal profiling program. We send our cars in for inspection each year, why not our guns and our gun owners. Question number one: hey Joe, how’s work, kids and the wife ? ….. answer > I lost my job, kids failing out of school, and the wife is drinking and running around…..Maybe 🤔 we could help Joe by not selling him another gun, and encourage him to voluntarily put guns in storage until his next inspection. An unstable gun owning home is a risk to the community. Maybe it’s time we infringe on some privacy for everyone, not just gun owners, until our culture makes a shift to sell less violent content and more loving kindness. ✌️

Every major leader in the Democratic party has suggested they would like to confiscate all guns. Then they would no longer have to fear the people. Keeping the government afraid is why the 2nd was added. In the Federalist papers, they thought the people should always have the means to stand up against tyranny in our government.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D – CA) does. “Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe.” – Associated Press, 18 November, 1993. “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them; “Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in,” I would have done it.” – 60 Minutes on CBS, 5 February, 1995. …“The National Guard fulfills the militia mentioned in the Second amendment. Citizens no longer need to protect the states or themselves.”

Senator Frank Launtenberg (D – NJ) did. “We have other legislation that all of you are aware that I have been so active on, with my colleagues here, and that is to shut down the gun shows.”

“I will get the NRA shut down for good if I become president. If we can ban handguns we will do it.”-Hillary Clinton interview with Des Moines Register Aug. 8th, 2015

Fmr. Senator Howard Metzenbaum (D – OH) did. “No, we’re not looking at how to control criminals … we’re talking about banning the AK-47 and semi-automatic guns.” – Constitution Subcommittee, 2 February, 1989

Vice President Joe “Buckshot” Biden (D – DE) does. “Banning guns is an idea whose time has come.” – Associated Press, 11 November, 1993 Representative Jan Schakowski (D – IL) does. “I believe…..this is my final word……I believe that I’m supporting the Constitution of the United States which does not give the right for any individual to own a handgun….” – Recorded 25 June, 2000 by Matt Beauchamp

Fmr. Representative Major Owens (D – NY) did. “We have to start with a ban on the manufacturing and import of handguns. From there we register the guns which are currently owned, and follow that with additional bans and acquisitions of handguns and rifles with no sporting purpose.”

Representative Bobby Rush (D – IL) does. “My staff and I right now are working on a comprehensive gun-control bill. We don’t have all the details, but for instance, regulating the sale and purchase of bullets. Ultimately, I would like to see the manufacture and possession of handguns banned except for military and police use. But that’s the endgame. And in the meantime, there are some specific things that we can do with legislation.”

Vermont State Mary Ann Carlson (D) does. “We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that. If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime.”

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) does. ” …confiscation could be an option…” Sarah Brady, fmr. Chairman of Handgun Control Inc. (now The Brady Campaign) does. “…I don’t believe gun owners have rights.” – Hearst Newspapers, October 1997 “The House passage of our bill is a victory for this country! Common sense wins out. I’m just so thrilled and excited. The sale of guns must stop. Halfway measures are not enough.” – 1 July, 1988…

“Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn’t matter if you have to distort the facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.” – The National Educator, January 1994, pg. 3, to Fmr. Senator Howard Metzenbaum

Fmr. Chancellor of Boston University John Silber did. “I don’t believe anybody has a right to own any kind of a firearm. I believe in order to obtain a permit to own a firearm, that person should undergo an exhaustive criminal background check. In addition, an applicant should give up his right to privacy and submit his medical records for review to see if the person has ever had a problem with alcohol, drugs or mental illness . . . The Constitution doesn’t count!”

Fmr. United States Attorney General Janet “Waco” Reno does. “The most effective means of fighting crime in the United States is to outlaw the possession of any type of firearm by the civilian populace.”-- Written affidavit by Fred Diamond, 1984 B’nai B’rith meeting in Coral Gables, Florida

Deborah Prothrow-Stith, of the Office of Government and Community Programs and the Community Violence Prevention Project at the Harvard School of Public Health, does. “My own view on gun control is simple: I hate guns and I cannot imagine why anybody would want to own one. If I had my way, guns for sport would be registered, and all other guns would be banned.” The ACLU does. “We urge passage of federal legislation … to prohibit … the private ownership and possession of handguns.” ACLU #47.

“I now think the only way to control handgun use is to prohibit the guns. And the only way to do that is to change the Constitution. — M. Gartner, then President of NBC News, USA Today, January 16, 1992, pg. A9.

Dam Rusty you’re well informed and quite knowledgeable, BUT ! Is that knowledge preventing growth.

Rather than being preoccupied and concerned with the opposition, what would be an idea worth pursuing, on your point of view around the second ? ….In other words, what do you want to see happen to keep children safe at school.

Prosecute criminals. At the present time, Democrat prosecutors keep turning loose criminals over and over. Arm teachers and/or have armed guards. There is a school district about 30 miles from here that has had a sign up for 20 years. It warns that some faculty and other staff might be armed. If a school district cannot afford guards, they could get enough retired veterans who would volunteer.

If they did all that Rusty then they wouldn't have an excuse to take our guns.

So shop owners should do a quick psycho analysis based on a few questions? And if someone isn’t happy at work or their kids aren’t getting good grades or they’re arguing with their spouse they should not be sold a weapon and asked to give up their guns for a while?

Im all for keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people preparing to commit a heinous act but it’s not that simple. Those three particular questions would rule out about 95% of the population.

And as for the criminals looking to buy weapons, there is a chance they might tell a lie to get what they want…

Exactly, not simple at all, that’s why a formal plan of action needs to be implemented. I’m sure the armed forces give each soldier a phycological test for gun readiness. The last thing your fellow soldiers want out in the field is a nervous soldier, because mistakes could happen. My three profiling questions come from a Carpet installer 😜 and like you said JP need to be cleaned up by the Professionals.

I’ll try to dive deeper into the profiling test. Each customer is given a grade and that grade determines whether you can A ) walk out with a gun. B) Can purchase, but need to keep the gun at the gun club or rifle range for a period of observation, before taking possession. C) Must take classes and pass the test 100% before moving up to plan B. …….. and so on and so forth.

Here’s the thing : Right now we have two groups that are exaggerating their views, creating noise over progress and we need to strap on a pair and do the work already.
All you Grandfathers are Grandfathered in 😜

Safety courses and testing are a good plan…. Won’t stop crazy though... The wrong people will still slip through the cracks of Bureaucracy like they always do. Armed guards is a more feasible solution. Of course then you have to make sure there’re not crazy…lol

There was a story in the paper here just a little bit ago. Ex cop and his girlfriend abusing his children. All the warning signs were plain as day. Teachers knew, Child welfare knew (or should have), nobody acted. Ended up they were starving the kids then locked them iin the garage until one of them froze to death. They’re both doing hard time now. A lot of good that’s doing those poor children…

Moral of that story is government agencies aren’t very good at preventing tragedy. It’s not going to work any better with guns. People who want to do harm will find a way. I’d rather keep all the good people armed too…

Don't know about now, but we got no test in the army other that marksmanship. Besides, all your ideas would violate my rights, so NO.

The CFI installer has had training.
He passes all the tests in flying colors.
Around doorways he puts one nail in each piece of tack strip.
He doesn't seal his seams.
The instruction and certification does what?
How many thugs, drug dealers and criminals purchase guns legally?
How many percent of crime and murders are done by gang bangers, drug dealers/buyers and criminals?
They won't have any instruction or certification.
How many people have purchased guns legally and had no mental health issues......
... Then at some point in their life snapped over personal or other life issues and shot up their family or coworkers? I'm betting there's a lot of shootings that have happened under this scenario. These people weren't crazy when they purchased the weapons but they already had them and had them legally. How would you stop something like this from happening?
You can't. You cannot stop nor predict "crazy"
The only option is to take away everybody's guns that's the only reason the government would like a permanent record of gun purchases.
Like was mentioned, metal detectors and security guards at schools and harsher sentences for criminals to keep them behind bars. If someone uses a knife to rob a convenience store or starts stabbing people in a bar, I would have no problem confiscating that person's guns and banning them from ever having firearms once they get out of jail. Ok, so they eventually get out of jail, and now can't legally purchase a firearm. They're most likely going to get one illegally anyway, so law abiding people jumping through all the hoops to legally obtain a firearm does what? A required one hour course for a first-time gun buyer on proper handling of a gun wouldn't be all that objectionable to me. It might keep some guy from shooting his foot while he's loading or unloading his gun. Send everybody home with gun safety manual so they can study more in depth. Include a booklet from the state explaining gun laws in that state. I don't have objection to something simple and cheap.
What happened over time in Canada can happen here in the US and that's why there's such a fight for the second amendment. Once they get their foot far enough in the door with rules and regulations, the US will just turn into Canada.

The UK took guns, now they have a knife problem. You cannot purchase even a pocket knife in the UK unless you are 18, but gang stabbings are common. There are more deaths with blunt objects, hammers, feet, fists every year than with all rifles. Ban them?
We are going to Texas over next weekend. Thankfully, they recognize my Missouri permit.

By age 8, I was hunting and cleaning rabbits by myself. My grandkids were shooting before they went to middle school. Most of the kids around here own a gun young, and we have very, very, few shootings.

That’s great but what about the 30 year old school teacher from the suburbs who never even saw a gun but decides it’s time to own one?
I‘m pro gun but I wouldn’t mind a required safety course…Gun shop owners could make a few extra bucks teaching it… Let’s call it “toe safety”.🤓

Ok, let’s try this, because I refuse to believe there’s no movement to be had, but let’s first explain some intentions.
The MPPPP squad ( medical staff, phycologist, Parents, Police, Parole officers, hey ! Let’s add another ‘P’ Preachers 😆 ) are not in place to eliminate gang bang shootings, but to assist gun shop owners to minimize selling guns to troubled law abiding citizens…… I think we just had another tragedy and I believe the gun was legally purchased by a troubled 18 year old. This is what the Phycological kiosk testing or actual interviews and certification testing is all about. To only sell guns to stable, well intentioned citizens, who possess the appropriate skills to carry. How that is treading on someone’s fundamental right is beyond my comprehension…… When we say the pledge of allegiance, we end by saying, for liberty and justice for all ! Not ourselves only…🤔

If the establishment thinks it will help prevent one out of 100 senseless shootings, then imho, it’s worth giving up some time and privacy, for Liberty and Justice for all.

Just like the CFI, an organization with the motto P.R.I.D.E. ( professionalism , responsibility, integrity, dependability, Education) There intention is to honor the trade and the customer ( for all ! ) SO ! can the NRA BE A LEADER ?…. Just because some members of CFI ARE imposter’s doesn’t mean the organization is not important / necessary. Here’s a philosophy moment….. we never know when mentorship awakens in someone but if we never mentor in the first place then PRIDE remains asleep. 🤔

If the NRA and its members continues to shut out the views of the opposition, because of what I see, IMHO as Proudly and Patriotically quoting ‘ The Second ‘ rather than listening with IMHO sensible ears or a give and take approach, then it’s quite possible, eventually the fear of gun removal could possibly actually come true.

In conclusion:
The ball is in the NRA’s court. And The next move the NRA makes will determine its future. HINT ! Start cleaning up the purchasing process by attempting to Certify gun ownership to individuals who possess proper intentions and gun readiness. We are not looking for perfection, just practical ideas to minimize tragedies and To give potential victims and suspects a fighting chance to live.

I believe 60 minutes recently did a program on a gun shop owner who has taken the responsibility to interview each new customer and in doing so has saved numerous lives from suicide. This individual would be my pick for the next NRA Leader ✌️

PS> in the meantime, metal detectors, security cameras, armed guards and Teachers is probably a good idea also.
