We recently bought and are remodeling a 1959 single story in Nashville TN. Most of the original flooring is oak hardwood, which we'd like to match in the remainder of the house. Our hope is to DIY sand and refinish the existing floors with what we add. From what I've gleaned so far these look like they could be red oak #1 or possibly select. They are 2 1/4" x 3/4" tongue and groove. Any experts able to help confirm the species and grade?

Thanks!

Looks different color in every room from the camera and lighting. I'm guessing either red oak or white oak. :ghostly:
....probably need someone to look at it on site.
Maybe there's a Nashville native working at a lumber yard that would be familiar with the oak flooring that was most common back then. Looks red to me but I'm a couple thousand miles away. ;)
Many of your neighbors might have the same type.

"Looks like" a select & better red oak floor to me. From here, that is. I don't see anything that makes me wonder about white oak.
