I gave Jon the information on the old tools. I don't have the old kicker shown on the patent info but do have the other tool. They want me to do an article on the old tools but haven't gotten around to it yet. I did 3 articles for them a few years ago only on trying out new tools which I got friends to use the tool and took pictures of them using it and then the tool was theirs. There was only one that I had to send back and that was the Jackrabbit a carpet pulling tool using a 3/4" ratchet and a geared roller that clamped onto the carpet.

Daris the "behr claws" was ripped off from a man named Dick Victor. His was permanently fastened to a stretcher head. I used the prototype around 1980 in KC. Just thought I would add that to your knowledge.

You know many of the antique tools I have are almost duplicates. I guess it is whoever gets to the patent office tthe first, even tho they have their own patents. Take the standup stretcher and tacker, the Belvidere, there are at least 5 different tools that are almost identical and all with patents. Some are just an improvement of the other. But then again they didn't have computers back in the 1800's to run a comparison check.

Before and after.
I used a Koolglide and my SeamSucker 2000. Lot cheaper than a Seamerdown.

He cut it with a straight edge, and went across three rows on one side of the seam. The other side was straight..... but still cut with a straight edge.
