In the last few weeks, I've been noticing more and more that I'm having to double click things. In 'Folder Options' I have it set to single click. Do I have a faulting mouse?

Or a new battery Does it have the old ball? You may have to clean it, just lick it a couple times for lubrication. :D

It's a Dell and is wired with the red light on the bottom. New with the PC 8 months ago. I'll see if I can find an extra one around here.
Try reinstalling the software .

Found another mouse, plugged it in but it doesn't move the curser. It's the ball type. What's the better thing out there for a mouse if I'm gonna buy one? Wireless? Any special brand? Seems this one would have lasted longer than 8 months. Never had a mouse go bad before.

I've had the same MS optical mouse for 20 years .

I have my mouse set to one click also. But there are certain times i have to double click to . Like on short cuts .

If the mouse still works ,and does it's job i wouldn't waste the money.
