Hi all new member here. My name is Neil I'm from Sussex been in the flooring trade 16 years now. I have been offered to take over my boss's business as he is planning to retire. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Hi. I guess you would say he is a retailer.
I suppose it depends on the size of the shop and if you can find or keep qualified installers. Depending on the size of the shop, I'm thinking you would be running the shop Measuring and sales, etc) and not installing anymore.
If you've been with this shop, know it's customers well, it might work out fine. Running the business is a 180 from installing, so it depends on how well you know how to price and compete. I'm better by far with my hand skills. My brain would fail immediately with number crunching, organizing, estimating, especially so if I got overly busy and had impatient customers calling and complaining.
