50 people is a big hit for New Zealand's population. I saw a video of a woman who saved a few people talking about how she was trying to help them-- keeping pressure on wounds of one young man & feeling like she still hadn't done enough despite having saved his life. The interviewer told her she was a hero & she said that she wasn't and she wished that she'd been able to do more.
From what I've heard the guy was mouthing off in public media. As many other mass murderers do.
Certainly family members knew it at the very least.
Just wondering what if any checks NZ has before you can buy a gun.
Highup, I agree. It's a tragic situation- and this dude wasn't even from NZ to begin with. I don't know any more details about him than that & really don't want to know. I don't want the guy to get the attention he sought. The victims should be remembered. I think the youngest one was 3-yrs old.
