Hey guys, Im sure you can all help me out we have the dark flooring you see by the stairs that runs in a hallway and the entirety of the kitchen. and the old oak with carpet inlay in the family and dining room. want to put new flooring in those areas but want it to flow the best. Should we try to get as close to dark color as possible or go with something different. Going to be selling in a year or so so want to make it pleasing as possible without breaking the bank. thanks!

the existing floor is really deteriorating at the herringbone corners, also pieces missing near hear registers and such...
 
Shaw has a glue together or staple down 'hand scraped' hickory floor that looks and wears great. Looks great when using 3 colors in a random pattern.
