It has been 15 years since this tragedy.
It always is disturbing. I remember so well where I was and what was happening at work that day. I was working for the HW/SW company that had done the s/w for the NYC Metro, and everyone was scurrying to get a team up there to help, at least they were after the first shock wore off.
And then the Pentagon, I had been selling them new computers as the major update was being done recent to that happening. I wondered if any I spoke with up there were physically effected, as I expected all there were mentally and emotionally effected.
Most not directly related to getting a team to NYC were just glued to what tv's we could find, and at lunch I went home and watched. I could not believe it and still am in a sorta shock about it.
I was babysitting that day and my wife took off to Joplin on a shopping trip. It took a long time to get through on the phone and tell her to come home. I was afraid they might attack the mall where she went.
I was working traffic enforcement on a PD motorcycle at the time. Since school had just started, we invited 4 other city motor cops into our city to saturate the school area and cite as many motorists as possible. I nearly got fired but I told my supervisor that I refused to issue anyone a citation on this day, since it is a day that will be remembered for decades. I promised to stop and talk to many people, which I in fact did, but just could not lower myself to add insult to injury.
God bless all those involved in this tragedy.
Loved ones posted photos of missing friends and family members in the desperate hope that they might turn up alive.
Those bastards killed people from all over the world not just Americans. And none of them were from Afganistan, Libya or Iraq.
Fifteen of the 19 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. Two were from the United Arab
Emirates, one was from Lebanon, and one was from Egypt.
Yep, Bush attacked the wrong country and he knew he was.
When they told him at the school we were being attacked he start coloring out side the lines .
