They came in those little round green plastic containerd and the cap snapped on.
Now wire nails come in these wimpy plastic containers with thin cardboard backs. I don't go through a lot of these anymore, but working on my staircase project is requiring a lot of tacks. Hot glue keeps the piece of cardboard from falling out. Hey, no effort, the gun was heated up anyway.
Yeah, yeah, forgot to grab some pill bottles. 🥴

Back in the day, in my 20’s ( 1980 ) we called it a ‘ Brader’ …. Then I went to the supply house to buy a new one and they called it the Anchorite tool 🤨 what a funny name 😝 …. Ps> what do you call a dust pan ? We called it a ‘ Picker Upper ‘ 😂

Don't you have an anchorite tool to set those nails with?
Yes, but I don't have another week to load them. 😁
Actually, it's fine driving them with a tack hammer. The carpet is a cut pile. One less step doing these by hand.
How come some genius hasn't created a tacker that shoots 3/4" or 7/8" staples?
It would be a huge success.
Even 5/8" would make the tacker usable in a lot of situations.
