Hello,
we are going to remove all the hardwood down to sub floor and re install
new oak hardwood floors.

My problem is the stair and under the stair. I see its sitting on a reducer
which I think it has holes and the posts are glued inside.

So i was thinking it would be easier to just leave it and remove the floor up to there or does the whole staircase has to go? and also does the first
step have to come out to install the floor underneath?

For wider planks and darker stain, not my decision I just need to do the trimwork like the doors and the stairs.

There is 2 pictures for help

I don't see why you shouldn't just leave the nosing in place. You'll just have to be careful when you rip the floor out not to damage this piece. Any imperfections that result can be filled with wood filler

Thats is what I usally do.
Im just asking here to see if anyone had another approach or has dealt with something similar before.
