Splining A Floating Engineered

Anyone out there ever consider splining an engineered floater to reduce expansion? Do you think it would help? I never have had to but I am bidding on a large tigerwood floater with a space that is wide open and ya just can't do any transitions or it would look horrible, don't like using them anyway. I already plan on undercutting the sheetrock but was just wondering about splining somewhere in the middle of this humongous house might help. Thoughts?
