Just kidding.
....The Chinese are coming. 😁
I hope not in this case.

A ship has been offshore for over 24 hours. It's 35 miles offshore.
I clicked for information and it's heading from Nantong China to Rizhau China....... The cities are 300 miles from each other......
....I'm in Coos Bay, Oregon. Maybe they're taking the scenic route?
When I clicked on the ship, it said not in command"
Here's that description.

Normally, it should say either under way, moored or something like that.
This is the ships track for the past 24 hours. Ships will do these zig zags while waiting to be brought into port. Once in a while they do this for a day or two while they wait for another ship to leave.

This ship wasn't even coming to Coos Bay. It's got some big problems. No ship just stops it's journey and zig zags at .6 to 3 mph for a day and a half.
Here's it's travel pattern. Edge to edge at the farthest points of these zig zags is 10 miles.
I'm in the blue circle / above right.
In the last 3 hours, the ship has moved south and 5 miles closer to the coast. (South of me).
These images are screen shots from marinetraffic.com
Marinetraffic.com is a must have if you live on the coast or any major river or bay.
I check the site often if not daily just for fun.
This is not something I've ever seen before. "Not under command" is not a comforting word describing a 688 foot long ship near the shoreline.

I think they heard me talking and knew they were being watched. After over 30 hours of playing possum, they nailed the throttle.

Maybe they were delivering the router bit I ordered. ;)
There's fiber optic lines going straight off the coastline at that same location.
... I can't find them all on one map but one does go to China directly from a local Beach 20 mi south of me....... And that's right where that ship was at. It turned around and it's heading back up to where it was zigzagging at. Verry very strange for a wood chip cargo ship.
I've never ever seen this kind of behavior.

Ooo, ooo, ooo, whatcha order?

I’m fortunate enough to be in a large metropolitan area. I’ve got a Rockler and a Woodcraft that I can go to. Could a say that when I lived in the boonies.
Hard to find stuff here. Just bought an 1/8 " round over.
