Hello I am new to the forum and I am hoping I am posting this in the right place. I have a bathroom floor I want to tile. It is currently vinyl floor. I have that out and I have found it has 1/4 luan underneath it. The luan was secured with construction glue and staples. My question is. Can I lay 1/4 cement board over the luan and lay tile on that? I am thinking with all the screws in the backer board that it would compress the luan and it would be ok to lay tile on, but I want to make sure my thinking is right. Tearing up the luan would be a awful job with it being glued down so I am trying to avoid that. Thanks!
