    Right click on file....
    open with microsoft office 20xx...
top left, click on picture...from drop down click on compress picture.....
on the right select web pages....click ok.
This changes the file size from x.xx MB to xx,x KB and picture will load in a snap.

What size is it in file size not pixel size? The pixel size is 800 x 600 as that seems to fit best for 95% of photos.

    And
Maximum Attachment File Size (KB) 4096

I am thinking maybe it is over the 4096 KB?"
If my math is correct, that's 4.096MB
The ones I tried to load were less than 1/4 of that.
What I did worked on the previous site format. This one it doesn't.
I can load a larger file from a high speed WIFI location, but with my tin cans, even a smaller size gets me an error.

jpg if that's what you're asking. I haven't changed anything in the way I resize images. I'm doing it the same way I did with the other forum format. I looked at other images I posted without issues on the old format.
    900x610 422kb loaded fine
    800x600 190kb loaded fine.
New format of a drawing I sketched out would not load at 800x646 105kb .....I had to reduce the same image to 400x325 at 15.33kb to make it load.

I use IrfanView for resizing because its quick and simple. This time I set the quality at 95%

Here's what I see. All attempts were at saved at 800x600 image size.
    72% quality shows 11.21 KB
    95% quality shows 33.69 KB
    98% shows 55.71 KB
100% shows 100.61 KB The others loaded, but this one gave me that error.
    ...........is 100 KB considered large?
The old system showed what file types and what sizes were acceptable.

DSC00962 Stainless and aluminum laminate 600 90 percent.jpg I just tried to upload an image that I had previously posted here a couple years ago. It was 190 KB and I got that error.
The image was at 800 by 600 and 95% quality
Here's the image, but reduced to 600 by 450 at 90 percent quality. It's 77.53 KB

I'm confused as the importance of a larger dimensional size. I thought it was the file size. The largest one I could load was shown in my last image. It was just 77 kb.
Does this site cut me off because I can't load a photo quick enough?

Image size is just what it shows when posted.

The KB and MB are the file size. And if you can only do 77kb and we allow 4096, I wonder if your upload is being limited along the way.

It was OK before the forum change. I'm trying to load images and sketches the same way I used to do. I 'm betting the new system is impatient with my strings and cups and throws the error.
