Thanks, that's what I was a bit worried about. There are some apps out there designed to save this kind of information but I don't know if it simply saves the contacts or if they put everything back on your phone just as you were used to having it. I think the photos are safe because my phone is always backing up photos that I take. The text messages are really the big one for me.

Another hole to China..............well, 4' in that direction to find a disintigrated/FAILED sewer line under the Day Care Center. Pipe failure was near dead center of one of the classrooms.

Looks like the VCT might need to be repaired too…😎

Seems like a strange place to put a sewer line? Or a day care center depending on which one came first?
Yeah, we ordered 3 ctn. of VCT. If they get the plumbing and concrete back in time (July) I'll do the repair. I knew very little about plumbing before taking over this slot as Super/QC for a general contractor. It's kind of amazing how deep those pipes run below the slab. Seeing as there's a minimum slope to the street/main sewer lines depending on how the building is oriented to the street that's how the sewer lines have to run.

As flooring guys we just dont see this phase of the construction. At least I never saw it and if it was right there in my face on bigger, commercial jobs I'd walk right by and not even glance down into the ditch.

Now................no choice. This is the second occupied building I had to go in and sawcut, dig out to the sewer lines and repair/replace. On this one the broken pipe was probably leaking RAW SEWAGE for many, many years. Yes, this is hazardous waste and has to be treated as such.
Air quality testing and lab testing of the soil contamination is all part of the deal.

It's not cheap.

Highup, the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card's purpose is to link the phone to the network and it does NOT store your data. It's an SD (storage disk) card that holds pictures and data. I looked it up and your phone does not have an SD slot so everything should be saved on your phone's internal built-in storage. However, your phone does have Near Field Communication (NFC) and if you want to back up the storage you can find a compatible device to transmit the data. I can't help with anything involving the cloud as its not something I use. I still use a Note 4 that has an SD card. I put stuff on my SD card, put it in an adapter, and copied all the pics to my computer. You may also be able to connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable and transfer data from phone to computer to back it up. So, changing your SIM card will not delete your data.

Yesterday I took my friend to a dental appointment to get molds for temporary dentures. I pick it up Wednesday so it will be ready after his surgery on Thursday. He's getting all his uppers (all 6 remaining teeth-- including wisdom teeth that are growing in) removed. The lady who wants to adopt the puppies I have is trying to help him find a place that takes his insurance for removal of his lower teeth and denture stud implants for both upper and lower. She's a doctor so she knows some people and wants to help. She called while I was driving so he answered for me. Grabbed food at Wendy's. Got milk at Samsclub. Ate my Wendy's food at friend's house and then went home and napped. Got back up and went to Walmart to get boneless skinless chicken thighs but they were completely out. They were out of a lot of stuff- as usual lately.

Today I will try to get inspection sticker on the CR-V so my brother can drive it. Also need to put new registration sticker on. Brother has an appointment today to get drug tested for the new job. Hope he can find his birth certificate.

Mom is feeling sick-- stomach bug or bad reaction to something she ate. I made her eggs and toast, but that's all she would eat. I need to get some soup for her or something that will sit well with her stomach. Hope it passes quickly and that its not viral.

Got the sticker on the CR-V so now I don't have to drive my brother to work. Problem is, he can't find his birth certificate. Mom had it somewhere and we don't know where. And they want it for him to get hired there. It's stupid bc a LOT of people lost their documents with all the hurricanes and floods. My friend was saying he could just go to the parish courthouse and get a new one but he can't because he was born in Virginia. He'd have to get one from there. However, they should have it on file from when he worked in a restaurant there. He needs to ask if they can retrieve that data bc getting a new one issued or finding it will take time. But, I'm going to let that be his problem and not mine.

What is my problem is that the nutjob who wanted the dogs backed out and told me to cease all contact. She had mentioned that she and her husband were fighting a lot and she might get divorced. I guess this was another thing that pushed them apart. She claimed he backed out but he was the one who wanted to take the dogs home. I almost wish I had pushed for her to take them then. So, now I have to find someone to adopt them because we absolutely can't keep them. They knocked over the trash and dragged it out 20x yesterday. My brother refuses to touch any of it. He also claimed he had cleaned it up- which was a lie- but he will look for any excuse to abdicate responsibility.

Nutjob changed her mind- sort of. She is talking to me again and says she wishes she could take the dogs and still might but her life is crazy right now and she needs hip surgery. I told her not to worry, to take her time and take care of her health. I wanted to suggest some kind of therapy but I don't want to upset her more. Even if she doesn't take the dogs, maybe I can help her calm down a little. I hate to see people all worked up and being stressed out.

Where is everyone today? I've been talking to myself for 3 posts. LOL.

Got back home yesterday. Didn’t do squat today. Gotta clean the dryer vent tomorrow and deal with a dying cactus in the yard as well as a few other things around the house before I go back to work.

The dryer vent is in the wall and goes straight up through the roof. Luckily I’ve got a 20’ shop vac hose so I can shove it in there and it will reach the entire length of the vent. When I cleaned it last year I had to go up in the attic and cut the pipe so I could reach in and grab a piece of stuck roofing shingle that was blocking the vent. We have a tile roof so I’m not really sure how the shingle got stuck in there or even how long it’s been there. Sure hope nothing else is blocking the vent cus going up into the attic will be miserably hot.

I saw a neat trick from a customer a few months ago. He got his leaf blower and blasted his dryer vent clean before I put the dryer back. I think I’ll try that first and see what happens.

CJ, good to see you. I imagine the shingle was there from a previous roof installation or possibly from a bad windstorm that carried the shingle from another roof. More likely the former than the latter.

I would not want to be up in the attic during this current weather.

Leafblower sounds like a neat idea for clearing the vent. That reminds me that I will need to cover the old vent hole when I move my dryer over. I think I have enough extra siding to cover the hole from the outside but I'll need to fill it on the inside. I'm thinking when I cut the hole for the new vent, I can use the new cutout as a plug for the old one but put a piece of plywood or something on the back to hold it in place (if that makes any sense). Then I can cover over the outside by replacing the siding that has a hole.

Crazy people don't need pets. Pets behave as per their upbringing and surroundings.
Pets don't need play part in someone else's life and behavior issues.
The pets end up with behavior issues... not unlike humans.

Sounds like an ongoing problem. I’m guessing your dryer isn’t located adjacent to an outside wall? Most vents I’ve seen go right out the side of the house with a flap outside so debris goes out but can’t come in. Plus gravity is on your side. Short distance, easy peazy cleaning.

Leaf blower sounds like a good plan in your situation.😎

even if the voices don't agree with each other.
Back in the day, during a carpet repair in the waiting room of a shrinks office. A 10 year old went in, but I could hear and make out about 3 or 4 different voices 😱

I wonder ? It sounds confusing to have multiple personalities, but maybe it’s fun 🤩 …….. redrum, redrum ! Sorry, I’m getting the disorders mixed up. Danny from the shining was clairvoyant. Nonetheless, I worked quickly and got out of there before they all came out. 😜

Never did anything like that, but worked in a funeral home with some cold ones in there.

If these dogs are off my hands then the crazy people can deal with crazy dogs. LOL. My brother is going to end up killing them if I don't rehome them soon.
Speaking of my brother, he was a total pain today. Decided he couldn't be adult enough to drive himself to take care of business and asked me to. Turns out he needed money as well. But he had to cop a bad attitude. I almost turned around to take him back home at one point and I almost left him at the casino (where he was supposed to be dropping off paperwork).

On the way out the door the front door wouldn't shut. A hinge came off but we didn't have time to mess with it. I notified mom of the issue and headed out. I still had to pick up my friend's dentures.

Took my brother to post office to get a money order. He lost his courthouse paperwork (I don't think he really looked for it that hard) and needed new paperwork. He insisted it was free. I told him it absolutely would not be free. This courthouse will nickle and dime people. If they could get away with charging an entry fee at the door, they would do it. He was looking for stuff online and I told him it would not be there and to just call the courthouse to ask. He sniped at me and refused. He spent over 20 minutes looking. I parked at the post office, pulled out my phone, googled the courthouse #, called them, and got the info in 2min. $10 for the paperwork and I had them prep it so it would be ready when he got there. He picked up a money order from the post office and then I took him to the courthouse. Next we went to the casino so he could drop off paperwork. He didn't bother to call me to tell me he had to wait and see someone personally to hand it in. 30min later I called him to ask what was going on and he snapped at me to calm my tits and stop being so impatient. I almost drove away right then.

When I first dropped him off I was in a spot where I had to back up to get into a parking spot. So, I let him out and put it in reverse. doors autolock. He suddenly pulls on the door handle and gets irritated that it won't open. I put it in park (easier than reaching for the unlock button) and he reaches in bc he forgot something. He closes the door, I put it in reverse. He grabs the handle and tugs and gets mad. I put it in park again, he reaches in and gets something else. I put it in reverse. He tugs on the handle a 3rd time and is now fuming. Park again and he reaches in and snaps "Why do you keep locking it so fucking fast?!" and I said "I was trying to back up and it locks automatically, dumbass!" He finally thought he had everything and went inside. I parked and waited. 10min after I called him he called me back and said he forgot the money order and wanted me to bring it to him. I should have told him to come get it himself. But I needed to stretch my legs, which were cramping up. Limped my way over and saw a friend of ours who gave me directions to the correct door. Made it inside and he was a bit crabby. Turns out his handwriting was so illegible they needed paperwork redone. He was going to sit there and fill out the paperwork but I said he could do it later, we had to go. He whined and complained about me being impatient. I told him he could whine all he wanted but I needed to go get our friend's dentures over an hour away and time was running out. He had me running an hour late by that point.

I had to stop to get gas on the way and about 7 min from the dental place my friend calls in a panic that the place called and said I hadn't picked them up yet. My brother had to answer since I don't use my phone while driving. Told him I was 7min out and to let the place know. So he called them back and they had them ready when I walked in the door 3 min before closing. Grabbed Wendy's on the way out.

Got stuck behind some dumbass who was going 40mph in the fast lane of a 65mph area. Face staring at her phone and not even looking at the road. She should have pulled off on the shoulder. Had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting her and wait for cars in the slow lane to move so I could move over and get around her. Flipped her off as I passed but she didn't notice.

Stopped at my friend's house to drop off his dentures and borrow him to come fix the door. I can't bend well enough to have messed with it. He pulled out old bent screws, replaced them with new longer ones I had handy, changed out some loose shorter ones on the middle hinge, went in and hugged Mom, and then I took him back home after instructing my brother to cook for Mom so I could eat in peace when I got back. She has this thing that even if she says she's not hungry, she gets mad if I don't get food for her first and I hadn't eaten anything all day and was hungry.

Dropped my friend off at his house and drove back home thinking about my baconator fries the whole way. They were lukewarm when I got back but still good. My chicken sandwich was cold but that was fine.

Got back to my computer and mom paged. Dog was in there barking out the window. I went in and tried to call the dog to leave. She wouldn't budge. I had to go pick her up and carry her out of the room and gently set her down. Mom wanted more food so I made her a baked potato.

I'm now resting. but I have to get up at 5:30am tomorrow.

@highup, did you ever see my response about the SIM card? I wasn't sure if you missed it or not. If you missed it: SiIM card is only for connecting to the network and does not store data. SD card stores data but your phone does not have an SD card slot. Your options for backing up your phone include connecting a cable to a laptop, computer, or other device and transferring the data or using NFC (near field communication) to send the data to another compatible device. Replacing a SIM card does not erase your text messages and data.

Last night before I went to bed I saw my cat Rupert across the hall on a cat tree. I wanted snuggles so I called to him. He kept looking at me and then the floor trying to decide how to get to me. I then said "Do you want me to come get you?" and he meowed 3 times. He very rarely meows. I walked over and he tried to leap into my arms but fell short so I had to catch him and then he clung to my shoulder for dear life.

I got up at 5:30am so I could pick my friend up by 6 to have him at his appointment at 7. They took him in around 7:15 and were done by 8am. They put him under, did the surgery, put his new dentures in, woke him up, and helped him out to my truck. They have a patient loading bay. They didn't numb him so he was starting to feel pain. Took him straight to the pharmacy but it didn't open until 9. Then another 10 to 15min wait for them to fill the RX. Pain got really bad before he got home and got even worse after he had to swallow the pills. I got him some ice packs and salt (instructions said to put ice packs on his cheeks and soak his mouth in warm saltwater. He didn't have any plain salt and I found some for under $1. The ice packs weren't cold yet so he grabbed some frozen fruit out of the freezer and held the bag to his face. I was staying with him to make sure he was ok but his mother showed up. She was laughing and thinking it was funny that he was using frozen fruit. I'm certain she's angling for $ from him. He let me know I didn't need to stay. I told him to message me if he needs anything.

While I was trying to find something for him the husband of the lady who wanted to adopt the dogs called. They've decided to take them. Just want heartworm test first and they will pick them up Saturday. She wanted them to get flea baths and Nexguard but local groomer doesn't do flea baths and vet doesn't have Nexguard. The husband said not to worry about it. Only thing he wants me to take care of is the heartworm thing and maybe digestive tract parasites. I'm really hoping they have no heartworms. Only dogs of mine who ever got them already had them when we rescued the dogs. Vet's office clerk said no point in testing for the other worms- they just deworm instead.

Rupert just realized I'm home so he climbed on me. Clinging to my shoulder and purring his head off.

So, dogs decided to be major jerks and run off to the neighbor's half a mile away and play in the mud right before I could take them to the vet. Then they fought me on getting them in the truck. Peanutbutter kept jumping back out (I put her on a blanket in the back seat). Finally got them in, got my brother in, got collars on them, put leashes on, and had to drag them all the way to the vet's door. Peanutbutter fought more. Jelly cooperated somewhat after awhile. Got them weighed and had them tested for heartworm. The guy who wants them called and said what treatments they wanted and they took his credit card info but their internet went down just before I left. I let him know. Dogs are now fully protected from worms.
I had to carry them back into the house when I was done. Once they started behaving I gave them treats. But I am exhausted and my arms/wrists hurt.
