I spoke to the fellow that I'm currently working for and told him about the cars at the casino. He paused and ask me do you have a minute?
I followed him out to his garage which sets just below the house and heres his toy. 76,000 original miles and he's the fourth owner. He's owned it for quite a few years now. It has the factory tack and factory air conditioning and it's about a stock as a card gets except for the mustang cassette player. His mustang is a 1965 and the cassette player he thinks is 1969 if that's possible. I'd say that because I can't remember when cassettes came out.
Anyway the car is show quality, it's beautiful.

Oh nice!

I finally dragged my fat ass out of bed (well, I got up earlier and fed the cats) and started working on my bathroom again. Hooked up shopvac and started trying to vacuum. Almost no suction. Checked the hose, checked the port-- no idea why it wouldn't work. Disconnected hose and flipped it around. It worked. So I was happily vacuuming away but the stupid wide suction end thingy kept sticking to the vinyl, pulling it up, and then falling off the hose. I think I need to tape that mofo on. Shopvac (which is not well-balanced and could be knocked over by a kitten) fell over and stopped suctioning. I turned it upright and still no suction. Turned it off, then back on. Still no suction. Kicked it while holding the handle & turned it back on. Worked again. Started sneezing and coughing from all the dust in the air so I'm taking a short break. Going to get my tools and start cutting and taping.

Edit: I FINALLY finished the flattening, trimming, and perimeter taping. I had to pull up some nails and remove some of the original carpet fragments that got left under some trim. Managed to get the vinyl to roll under the toekick nicely without much trimming. It runs up the underside of the toekick-- which I'm happy with. It's stiff enough that it will hold itself in place up there without tape. There is one unsightly crease I don't like but couldn't get out but that will be covered with a bath mat so I don't care. Getting the vinyl under the carpet band thingy was a bitch and a half. The flap thingy didn't want to stay up. I used a putty thingy to cram the vinyl under. Band didn't want to go back down, but I perimeter taped a few inches away so it *should* stay. Crossing my fingers. It's a total mess in there. Adhesive got stuck to my scissors. I almost couldn't get back up off the floor... It's absolutely going to need baseboards in there. Pics to come after I cool off a little. I'm sweating like crazy.

What goes on at night right above your head?
......more than ya think. 😱
I've set my game cam on the roof my old van a number of times at night. Just wanted to check to see what's going on up there. The bats fly in incredible flight patterns .......super freak, super freak The wind in these videos is zero mph.
Most of the entertainment is just fog droplets. Looks like a blizzard is going on.
The camera shows tiny water droplets to small to see, plus bats, moths and who knows what else............ 😱
I just find it interesting that all this action straight above my head. .....probably yours too, I'm not special. 😉

Customer appreciation day.
They put up with me and my hours.
......and this three day job interrupts their lives for 5 intermittent days....... I finished up today and left with a thank you card.
Why do I do what I do?
Well, when I get done with a job, it usually takes so long that I'm just inches away from being written into their will.
Blessed are the patient.
I apologized for how long it took to do the repairs to make this job right. She said she would not let the original installer back in her home. I can understand that from what I saw.
Anyway my job's done and is trying to move on to the next customer.
The cards neato isn't it?

Highup, I'm sure we've had some large critters crawling around in our attic. We also had bees. They made a hive directly over my parents' bed and the honey started soaking through the ceiling. That happened in two different houses we lived in. First was our house in Virginia. The hive weighed over 50lbs and almost fell through the ceiling. Second time was here & the hive was smaller. Had to call in exterminators (this was 30 years ago) to get rid of them. I know there are mice up there. Awesome that the customers were so happy with you. Yikes about the air quality.

I like the Superfreak song.

Bladder woke me up this morning and then kitties were wanting to be fed. So I have drained my bladder, gave the dog filtered water, refilled the Brita filter, fed kitties, and am now checking the forums. I plan to take it easy today. I may have a bit more energy but I need to keep in mind that my back is fickle. I sneezed so hard earlier it made my back and shoulders hurt. So I took my allergy meds and vitamins.

I found my floor cleaner so if my body cooperates I might try to clean the floor. I do need to have it done before we get the toilet installed. Trying to figure out the best way because mopping wasn't working. Maybe I can get some gloves, hot water in a bucket, and sit on my Kobalt mat and scrub. I might do that in the afternoon. I want to be lazy this morning.

I got all cleaned up and this morning I noticed a dirt spot that wouldn't come off my arm. Scrubbed and then realized its a bruise. LOL. I can't even feel it but its purple and I have no idea how I got it. I had dreams about perimeter taping the floor last night. LOL.

We had a squirrel family living in our attic. I had to kill them to finally get rid of them because once they know that’s their home they will keep finding ways to get back in.

I gotta great way for you to get rid of mice and rats for ya. You mix cornmeal muffin mix with baking soda and leave it out where the rodents frequent. The baking soda reacts with their stomach acid and starts to bubble up. Mice n rats can’t burp or fart so they die because of the baking soda reaction in their stomach. Best part is this mix is harmless to other animals than may run across it and eat it. The downside is you’ll have dead rodents in your attic. Better than live ones I guess.

I wish I'd known about baking soda years ago. My father put out rat poison and one of our favorite cats got ahold of a poisoned mouse & the rat poison killed the cat in a horrible way. We got rid of all the rat poison after that.

I'm still relaxing and am thinking of having breakfast if my back cooperates.

Went to the shooting range yesterday with my son's 3 gun group. One of the guys owns a gun shop, and has a level 3 FFL, so out came the fully auto machine guns. Holy crap, there is nothing like the sound of 5 fully automatic rifles firing at the same time.
How many dollars per minute do five fully automatic rifles cost. I'm kind of betting you can buy a new car for the same price. 😁

Hey Zan. If you're having dreams about taping the perimeter of the bathroom floor that just means that you've turned pro. I sometimes have dreams like that before I get an installation started running over and over again in my head how I'm going to start. The problem is I never finished the installation because it's like a tape loop going over and over and over the same thing. 😖

I wish my body agreed today. LOL. I don't know how you guys do it. My knee doesn't even want to bend enough for me to lift my leg to walk and I nearly fell down when trying to sit because I hit a certain point and my legs said "nope". Super stiff and sore today so I didn't get anything done. I made sure I located my toilet jack and got my toilet tank out from under the pieces of my brother's desk. I need to find more tools but it involves using steps and my legs are barely cooperating with walking on level ground. Even my hips are protesting. LOL.

I always had all jobs set up in my head. As each seam cooled I knew exactly what I would be doing.
I get too many jobs that are different than anything I've ever done before, so it's a bit like learning something on each job with nothing consistent or repetitive. Normal or typical jobs don't make me lose sleep. I get too many of those "special" jobs.

I just got a song lyric in my head "You're so f***ing special. I wish I was special". LOL.

Visited my friend briefly and helped him move his small freezer back in. It had been completely filled with ice and he had to thaw it out. I didn't feel like cooking so called Mom to ask if she wanted takeout. I mentioned the toddler was nearby so she said his name and he looked at the phone and made babbling noises. 2 yrs old and can't even say mama or dada or understand any words except his name.

Friend was tired and sore from cleaning up and doing yardwork. Ever since the mayor opened his own lawn business, he changed the city ordinances to demand people have their lawns cut and stuff. And if they don't do it within the time he wants them to (sometimes as little as 1 to 2 days) he will have his lawn company cut it and charge the people for it & fine them if they tell his people not to touch their yards. He got mad that someone across the street from my friend hired someone else to cut their lawn so he made up some bs reason to fine them. It rained nonstop for weeks so people couldn't cut their lawns and he had threats sent out to people to cut their lawns or else. Now my friend is sore from the yardwork and I'm hoping he will feel better tomorrow.

I'm hoping my body will cooperate tomorrow as well.

My grandson was out running around with friends last night when his mother called and told him to come home. 30 minutes later, 3 of the 4 he had been with died in a car wreck.
