Well we want to go with a natural water polyurethane finish, no gloss. Which will soon be applied. They said that the filler that's being used is specifically for red oak floors and is pretty much as good as it gets. Here's another photo that was taken after wiping a damp cloth over the floor...
I just came by to check out the refinishing progress and some of the areas where they filled the wood looks pretty noticeable. If it's the way it's gonna be, then it's fine. Just want to make sure these guys are doing it right. Here's a close up...
Progress...I'll finish the rest tomorrow. The floor guy said he can take care of spotted mastic/tar. Cannot wait till these floors are sanded and refinished!
Thanks. I'm really enjoying this diy project. Love it at times and hate it at times, lol. I've never been the handy type, but definitely like the way it's going and can see myself doing more projects.
Here''s an update. Doing just enough to remove most of the tar and will scrape off the rest. Took a couple hours cause I'm being very patient and am getting comfortable.
