If there is a problem with moisture, how soon will problems appear in the engineered wood floor installation? In other words, how soon would the floor start to buckle, etc? Is this a common problem where the wood is laid using glue that has a moisture barrier incorporated, over concrete slab...

Bostik Vapor lock or Mapei UltraBond Eco980? Which is better for glue down engineered wood installation? I need both vapor/moisture and adhesive combo.

This is concrete slab... so I don't think the floor joints matter. The wood is engineered. The installation is glue down (glue down is superior, right?) The lights come in from the windows in the nook and family room. Thank you for the input thus far.

How would you lay the wood for this layout? We will be doing wood in the part in orange. Basically the living areas and the hallways. I am confused how I should orient the wood floor planks. See the attached. Thank you in advance.

Wow. So we DO need to get it tested? Even if the glue has the moisture barrier incorporated into it? We are located in the California bay area, but we are not close to any oceans... So what are the methods used to test the moisture levels? How long does it take? Is it a simple process?

Our concrete slab was poured in December as our house is completely new. We are now getting engineered wood floors installed. The carpet and vinyl has been removed. I am concerned that there may be a moisture problem, but the guys who will be installing the floors told us we do not need to check...
