I agree, 511 Impregnator by Miracle Sealants is the one I use when I want the good stuff. Use on ceramic, porcelain stone etc...... Jaz

    Sealing grout

It would be much easier and accurate if you told us which specific tiles you have. It's also a good idea if we knew where you are. Jaz

    Sealing grout

Sure, cuz you're gonna get some on the tiles too. You might also want to apply to all the tiles. Jaz

    Tile over sheetrock

Hi, Let's first of all clear the air about what you called "waterproof sheetrock". There is NO SUCH THING! Sheetrock/drywall is not and never was waterproof. At best it's moisture resistant, not even water resistant. However, the tile guys is being really tough. You can install tiles...

    Water Under Quarry Tile

I don't know about Ernesto, but I might recommend cyanide over re-grouting 1000 ft. of quarry. Remember there are several meaning to the word "waterproof". 1. One meaning is that the item is not severely affected by water. Thousands of items qualify. 2. The other means to create...

    Water Under Quarry Tile

Tile, grout, sealers, none of these can make the installation waterproof. The job should have been waterproofed before any tiles were installed. All you can do now is caulk and prevent water from getting near a wall. Sounds like the room was not sloped to a drain for your purpose. Jaz

    Grout and thinset issues

It could be several things, but most likely the crumbling grout is because there is movement in the subfloor. No movement, no cracks. We can offer suggestions if we knew exactly how the subfloor system is built, pics would also help. Also include what type of tile backer was used, if thin...

    Hardi Har Har

I'm not that wild about Hardie either, but it's the best selling CBU out there. What did you put under the Hardie before you fastened it? Jaz

    Ceramic tile over unknown subfloor

If you love it, learn the name. It's Schluter. Why can't you see that Kerdi is waterproof, and will make a great shower? Ditra over existing vinyl and unmodified. Oh Boy! Jaz

    Bathroom Tile surface prep

It's fine to leave the felt as long as it's very thin. Even 1/16" might give you problems though. In addition, don't forget the special mesh tape for all the seams. Jaz

    Which tile

Brian, you are frikin blind. Thanks. :D I guess this forum works a little different in regards to avatar size. Normally it won't allow photos bigger than their max. I'll try to make it smaller if I can figure out how. Jaz

    today's laying ceramic tiles

I Don't you just hate it when that happens? :D I don't know of a professional tile setter that would start setting a floor from the center. That old-wifes-tale can work for vinyl tiles though. Jaz
