Just a note.. Windows XP CDs are already bootable. It's just a matter of hitting F8 and choosing the CD drive as the primary boot option, or going into the BIOS and under boot devices, changing the boot order so the CD drive is the first device to be checked.

When this is done, you can hit any key to boot the windows installer process on the CD.

Useful link for computers with outdated reader-drives that can't read bootable cds without a boot disk or floppy, and good initial guideline to get you through the reinstall process though. :)
