The Memorial provides full respect for those entombed sailers.
Although you need to take a shore boat, there is full silence as you board and disembark. Once you step off the boat, you realize that when you look through the water, you are actually standing on a platform directly over the battleship Arizona. There are small droplets of oil still seeping from the twisted metal. You see the deck of the battleship and is easy to think of the hundreds of our military soldiers running down these decks fighting for their lives on that Early Sunday morning on December 7th, 1941.
